This creature lives deep in the ocean. Don't be shocked if you see it!
— Patch Plaza description

Amprey is an invincible yarn eel-like creature that debuted in Kirby's Epic Yarn and later appears in Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn. Encountered exclusively in the Water Land stage Deep-Dive Deep, this long purple fish swims circles around set features of the landscape.

Amprey is a relatively large enemy with a purple body, yellow button eyes and green fins. As it is electric, Amprey's body also flashes a brighter shade of green and purple. Attached to its tail is a line of three large beads which Kirby or Prince Fluff can collect without taking damage. However, if they collide with the rest of the Amprey, they will lose some of their beads.

Locations

As mentioned above, Amprey appears only in the stage Deep-Dive Deep.

Trivia

  • Amprey gets its name from the words "ampere" and "lamprey" fused together in a portmanteau. Ampere is a measure of electric current, and a lamprey is a form of jawless fish that resembles an eel.
