Poison Applestitle are a sub-type of Apples that debuted in Kirby Super Star Ultra. They are occasionally dropped by Whispy's Revenge. They behave like normal apples, but if Kirby tries to inhale them, he will take damage and be unable to spit them out as Star Bullets. As such, they are best avoided or knocked out of the way.
Poison Fruit is a term used to refer to certain poisonous objects dropped by Whispy Woods and his relatives. Unlike Apples and most other objects, these fruit are dangerous to inhale, causing Kirby to take a small amount of damage when doing so, and being unable to spit them back out again afterward. Despite this, poison fruit can be destroyed by other means without consequence.

Poison Apples also appear in Kirby's Return to Dream Land, when Kirby faces off against Whispy Woods EX in the Extra Mode and The True Arena.
