The stage begins inside a palatial chamber where Kirby finds his foe poised on a balcony to the right, refusing to move. Kirby cannot interact directly with Meta Knight until he notices and picks up the [[Sword]] left for him in the middle of the room (with a helpful prompt of 'GET IT!' overhead). Touching the sword automatically conveys the Sword ability upon Kirby, overriding any previous ability he had in the process.
