Dedede Gogogo - Stage 4 is the fourth and final stage of the Dedede Gogogo Sub-Game in Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn. This stage takes place in a setting similar to Castle Dedede from the main game, although it looks somewhat decrepit with gears and leaking fluid found throughout. Stage 4 is the only stage in Dedede Gogogo to feature cannons. It is unlocked once the player defeats King Dedede in Snow Land. The main theme of Dedede Gogogo plays throughout.

Overview[edit]

King Dedede approaching a cannon while a yarn mole appears from the ground before him

This stage begins with King Dedede entering a castle from the courtyard. As he smashes through two sets of Star Bead Blocks, he will find the first cannon of the stage. Upon entering the cannon, King Dedede will be blasted to a section of the castle above, smashing more Star Bead Blocks as he flies. Here, he will find a couple of large bells and a series of block walls that he must break.

King Dedede will soon encounter two large rotating gears with Fuse Beads and formations of Red Buttonbees surrounding them. King Dedede will have smashed through two more block walls, one of which with a Boom Block at the top, by the time he reaches a smaller rotating gear. Immediately before and after the gear are Boom Blocks on platforms that fall to a certain height before King Dedede reaches them. The platform after the gear also holds a tall wall of blocks that Dedede must smash through in midair. To give the player a short break before the next section, King Dedede will be met with another series of block walls.

The next section of the stage involves King Dedede running on or underneath a couple of semisolid platforms while Sneak Sacks run toward him at full speed. In this section, Dedede will also find a yarn mole, a few more Boom Blocks, and a wall of blocks. One particularily dangerous wall of blocks has Boom Blocks at the bottom that Dedede must jump over. King Dedede must then perform a Head Slide underneath a falling wall, hit a yarn mole and break through a few block walls before proceeding to another Sneak Sack section.

In the next part of the stage, King Dedede will be met with another semisolid platform, this time with just one Sneak Sack. After this, he will ride a large rotating gear as two more Sneak Sacks jump at him from a platform ahead. After defeating these foes, King Dedede will run down a hill and arrive at the next large bell. He will then smash walls of Star Bead Blocks as he hops across falling platforms and ducks another falling wall.

The final stretch of this stage requires King Dedede to smash through blocks that reside on rising and falling platforms. The final platform includes some Boom Blocks atop the pile. To finish Stage 4, Dedede will enter a second cannon and be shot up to the goal bell.

Obstacles[edit]

Listed below are the blocks, enemies and other obstacles that appear in Stage 4 of Dedede Gogogo. Obstacles are listed in the order that they appear.

Blocks[edit]

  • Star Bead Block: A block that can be smashed with King Dedede's hammer to gain 5 beads.
  • Cloth Block: A block that can be smashed with King Dedede's hammer.
  • Boom Block: A block that explodes when collided with. King Dedede will lose speed and 50 Fuse Beads if he touches this block.

Enemies[edit]

  • Red Buttonbee: Bee enemies that can be found flying around rotating gears. When hit with Dedede's hammer, Red Buttonbees will bounce off the ground and go flying, leaving a trail of Fuse Beads behind them.
  • Sneak Sack: Foes that run toward King Dedede and jump off the edges of platforms. They can be dodged or smashed with Dedede's hammer.
  • Yarn mole: Enemies that appear from the ground as King Dedede approaches. They can be jumped over or smashed with Dedede's hammer.

Other obstacles[edit]

  • Cannon: A large obstacle that shoots King Dedede to a platform above, causing him to destroy any blocks in his path as he flies.
  • Rotating gear: A rotating circular platform that behaves in the same way as the rotating flower wheel from Stage 2. When King Dedede runs on these platforms, his horizontal position does not change. Rotating gears can either be large or small. These platforms often have beads and Red Buttonbees around their circumferences.
  • Falling/rising obstacles: This stage includes various falling and rising obstacles. Some platforms fall down to a certain height when King Dedede walks on top of them. The player will also find walls that fall to a height such that King Dedede must Head Slide underneath them. In addition, there are platforms that rise or fall before King Dedede reaches them, making it more difficult for the player to react to the obstacles upon them.

Lumina locations in Dedede Gogogo - Stage 4
Lumina Location How to obtain
1 Immediately after the first cannon. This Lumina is on King Dedede's path and is thus easily obtained.
2 On the first small rotating gear, between two Boom Blocks on falling platforms. This Lumina is on King Dedede's path and is thus easily obtained.
3 A short way after the first small gear. This Lumina is on King Dedede's path and is thus easily obtained.
4 Underneath the second long semisolid platform in the Sneak Sack section. Stay on the ground and make sure not to jump on top of the platform too soon.
5 After the rotating gear platform that the Sneak Sacks jump on. Jump onto a semisolid platform.
6 In midair following two platforms that fall when Dedede jumps on them. Perform two jumps in quick succession across the falling platforms.
7 Just after a falling wall that King Dedede must Head Slide underneath. Jump immediately after performing a Head Slide.
8 In King Dedede's cannon trajectory, before the goal bell. This Lumina is on King Dedede's path and is thus easily obtained.
