Milky Way Wishes: Staff Credits[2] is the ending theme of Kirby Super Star. This theme plays in the credits after beating Milky Way Wishes and is a well-known Kirby ending theme, along with A New Wind for Tomorrow from Kirby's Dream Land and Ending Demo from Kirby's Adventure. This theme was composed by Jun Ishikawa,[1] a veteran Kirby composer.

Composition[edit]

Kirby takes a victory nap.

"Milky Way Wishes: Staff Credits" first starts with a slow lullaby-like intro in 3/4 time. After this slow intro, a D-note can be heard, the speed picks up and the time signature turns into standard 4/4 (the key also changes from D-flat major to G major). The theme then begins its "first verse", which contains a triumphant melody. The verse is repeated again, but with a differing lead instrument. After this, it plays the "chorus" of the theme, which is played by a synth-like instrument. It then plays the "second verse" which is identical to the first verse. It then does the chorus a second time, but then introduces a new portion that has a somewhat bittersweet melody played by a solo instrument. Afterwards, the "bridge" of the theme plays. This portion is played by a slightly different sounding instrument and also has chords in the backing of the theme. The bridge then changes to B-flat major and reprises the "Kirby's Triumphant Return" theme with a trumpet. Not too long afterwards, the theme then plays a portion of another well-known Kirby theme, Green Greens, as the theme goes back to G major. It then plays three long notes with a synth-sounding instrument, the bass goes a few notes back down, and the theme loops back to the first verse of the theme.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby Super Star/Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]

As stated above, this theme plays in the Staff Credits after beating Milky Way Wishes. The ending theme in Kirby Super Star Ultra differs, however, as the key has been moved a half-step lower (meaning it plays in F-sharp major as opposed to G major). Additionally, in the same game, the song also plays in the Hidden Staff Credits, which plays after beating Meta Knightmare Ultra.

Kirby Star Allies[edit]

An acoustic remix of this theme appears in a medley called Best Friends, Tomorrow and Always, a medley that also contains A New Wind for Tomorrow and the ending theme from Kirby's Adventure. This medley was composed by Hirokazu Ando and is the 184th song in the Jukebox.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[edit]

The "bridge portion" of this theme can be heard in the remix of Staff Credits - Kirby's Dream Land.

Other appearances[edit]

An orchestral remix of this theme was made for the Kirby Ultra Super Deluxe Original Sound Track, called 銀河にねがいを:スタッフロール/オーケストラver. (Milky Way Wishes: Staff Credits / Orchestra ver.). This theme is the 36th and final track of the CD and was arranged by Hirokazu Ando.

This theme was also present in the Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert and the Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Festival. In the former it is the last song to play in the concert by itself, and in the latter, it plays in a medley called Kirby Endings with other Kirby ending themes.

A full remix of the theme called ゴハンをたべてゆめをみて/銀河にねがいを:スタッフロール (Eating a Meal and Having a Dream / Milky Way Wishes: Staff Credits) is present on The Sound of Kirby Café.
