"Milky Way Wishes"[2] is a theme that first appeared in Kirby Super Star. It was composed by Jun Ishikawa.[1]

Composition[edit]

Marx's request.

The theme is composed in 4/4 signature and runs at around 83 beats per minute, making the piece slow-paced and eerie. It can be split into two parts: the first section has a female voice-like sound as its lead instrument, while the second - a triangle. The latter is also characteristic for its rising and descending volume.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]

The theme debuts in Kirby Super Star as the intro cutscene theme for the game mode with the same name. The transition between the first and second section marks the moment where the flashback ends. It can be found as track 49 in the game's Sound Test.

"Milky Way Wishes" reappears in the remake as well, serving the same purpose. Unlike in the original, however, the transition is not synchronized with the cutscene. In this game, it is found as track 057 in the Sound Test.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse[edit]

A remix of "Milky Way Wishes" is present in the game's Music Room as track 010. This remix is even slower than the original and is nearly entirely played on harp, occasionally featuring a guitar. It can be found as a Treasure in Swept Out to Sea.

Kirby Star Allies[edit]

In Kirby Star Allies, the original version plays in Marx's pseudo-HAL Room in Guest Star Marx Galactic Ambition. It can be found as track 161 in the game's Jukebox.
