"Mountain Stage" is a musical piece originally from Kirby's Adventure, which primarily plays in Yogurt Yard in that game. It was composed by Hirokazu Ando.

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby's Adventure / Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land[edit]

The theme plays upon accessing Yogurt Yard for the first time, and subsequently in most of the level stages.

Kirby's Dream Course[edit]

An arrangement of "Mountain Stage" plays in Holes 1-7 on Course 2, Holes 5-7 on Course 7, and Holes 5-7 on Mr. Shine & Mr. Bright Course.

Kirby's Avalanche[edit]

An arrangement of "Mountain Stage" plays when battling in Normal difficulty stages of Competition Mode.

Kirby's Dream Land 2[edit]

The theme is reused for Red Canyon, being the main theme of the level. It plays in a lower key than the original.

Kirby: Canvas Curse[edit]

A techno-style remix of the theme plays in Growth Grasses. It is arranged by Jun Ishikawa[1].

When the "Old School" sound mode is selected, the Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land arrangement plays in Rift Ruin and Collapse Castle.

Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition[edit]

When selecting Kirby's Dream Course in the "Kirby's History" mode, its arrangement of "Mountain Stage" plays.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]

A remix of "Mountain Stage", named "A Forest Hike", can be heard in multiple forest areas in the game, one of them being Fine Fields - Stage 4. It has an orchestral sound and a focus on bass, and also plays in a lower key than the original. It's arranged by the original composer, Hirokazu Ando.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse[edit]

A rock-style remix of the theme can be unlocked by collecting one of the Treasure Chests found in the Gondola Ride stage, to then be played in the Music Room. This is where the proper name of the track, "Mountain Stage", first appeared in English; previously, this was its name translated from Japanese on the The Very Best of Kirby: 52 Hit Tracks soundtrack album.

Kirby: Planet Robobot[edit]

The "Growth Grasses" remix from Kirby: Canvas Curse is reused in Patched Plains - Stage 6 EX.

Kirby's Dream Buffet[edit]

The Kirby's Dream Course remix of "Mountain Stage", named Kirby's Dream Course: Memorial Song 1 in-game, can be unlocked by reaching Gourmet Rank 107.

Other appearances[edit]

In the Kirby's Adventure soundtrack album, the theme received a vocal remix named スターライト・アドベンチャー (Starlight Adventure).

The original version of the song can be found on the soundtrack album The Very Best of Kirby: 52 Hit Tracks.
