This article is about the stage in Kirby's Dream Land 2. For the stage in Kirby's Dream Land 3, see Grass Land - Stage 1 (Kirby's Dream Land 3).

Grass Land - Stage 1 is the first stage of Grass Land in Kirby's Dream Land 2. As the game's first stage, it also serves as an introductory stage. The stage does not have any Animal Friends or Mid-Bosses.

Layout[edit]

The stage begins in a simple plains area, with no real obstacles at the start. Kirby starts out a straightforward, flat path and encounters a Waddle Dee then a Broom Hatter. Kirby continues past a hill, which a Point Star is floating over. A Star Block appears just before another hill, and Kirby can go up by either hovering up or jumping from the Star Block. Kirby goes down a slope and must walk across another flat land. Kirby escapes from many enemies that simultaneously ambush him. Kirby enters the door at the right end of the path and continues into the next area.

The next area is also a plains area. It is of a similar structure, but more elevated at the beginning. The second area introduces the thin floors. At the start, Kirby can go through one to reach another Point Star. He continues by a Poppy Bros. Jr. and reaches the second platform. Kirby can optionally drop through and enter a side chamber where Floaty the Drifter is guarding a cache of Star Blocks, which an Energy Drink hides within. Kirby returns into the main path and continues. The elevated portion of the level ends abruptly as Kirby falls down into a lower area. Besides a few enemies, this part has

Not far from this doorway, the elevated portion of the section ends abruptly, the rest of the region being situated at a lower level. Besides a few enemies, there is a pyramid and two small towers made of Star Blocks, as well as a few Star Blocks floating in the air. If Kirby obtained the Parasol ability earlier from Floaty the Drifter, he can easily break through the barricade of Star Blocks. He goes up a stairway to reach the goal door.
