Hi, and welcome to my personal sandbox! I'll be posting all kinds of tentative tables and templates that may make it to the mainspace eventually, so have a look!

Date Template

Supposed to be a sort of shorthand to writing out dates in full that would also ensure consistency in formatting. It can also change according to user prefs, much like the now-deprecated spelling templates used to do, except it would make things more convenient rather than confusing. It would essentially be formatted in the article code as {{date|1|jan|2001}}, with the date followed by the first three letters of the month (English) and the year. The template would take care of the rest.

The effect is as follows, depending on your preferences: 1 January 2001

Functionality for dates with fewer fields (day and month, month and year, etc.) is under construction.
