"Rest Area"[2], also known as "Rest Spot"[3] and "Taking a Break"[4], is a musical track that first appeared in the Rest Areas of Kirby Super Star. It is a slower-paced remix of "Float Islands" based on its second section.
Game appearances[edit]
Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra[edit]
In Kirby Super Star and its remake, the theme plays in the Rest Area from The Great Cave Offensive, as well as in the secret ??? planet in Milky Way Wishes, and in Kirby Super Star Ultra exclusively, this track also serves as the music for the file select, as well as The Arena's rest area and the checkpoints in-between Meta Knightmare Ultra levels.
Super Smash Bros. series[edit]
A remix of "Rest Area" titled All-Star Intro plays in the All-Star Rest Area of Super Smash Bros. Melee, which is only accessible in the All-Star Mode in-between battles.
The track was released on CD in the game's official album Smashing...Live!, as part of the "Original Medley" under Track 5. It returns in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate under the name "All Star Intro".
Kirby's Return to Dream Land / Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe[edit]
In Kirby's Return to Dream Land and its remake, a rearrangement of "Rest Area" plays in the Copy Ability selection room of The Arena. It also plays on the Game Over screen for The True Arena. It is called "Taking a Break" in Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe[edit]
The Kirby: Triple Deluxe, another rearrangement of "Rest Area" plays in the file selection section, with a high-pitched mandolin and flute in the lead. It is named "Select a File!" in the Kirby: Planet Robobot Original Soundtrack, and is arranged by Hirokazu Ando.
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse[edit]
A new arrangement of "Rest Area" can be unlocked for the game's Music Room in Back to the Battleship.
Kirby: Planet Robobot[edit]
In Kirby: Planet Robobot, the file selection theme from Kirby: Triple Deluxe is reused, serving the same purpose. A new arrangement of the theme titled "StreetPass wins (True)" can be heard when viewing the player's best scores from The True Arena.
Other appearances[edit]
A live orchestra arrangement of "All-Star Intro" from Super Smash Bros. Melee is featured on Smashing...Live! as part of "Original Medley", which is a medley of original Super Smash Bros. compositions (despite "All-Star Intro" being a remix of a theme from Kirby).
The Super Smash Bros. Melee arrangement of "Rest Area" is featured in Kirby & The Amazing Mirror Sound Plus as track 46.
