When talking about work on the wiki, it's important to remember that the wiki isn't a job. Everyone is here because they want to be — even if it seems like busywork, the editors do this because they really want to.

That runs both ways. If you want to get into the nitty-gritty of things, like uploading files or making tables, that's great and totally your choice. If you start something like that and decide you don't really want to finish it, that's fine, too. Someone else might decide to finish it for you, or you can come back if you change your mind.

It's okay if that's weeks, months, or years later. There's no time limit to wiki work, since there's always something to work on. If you want to do something in small pieces and take long breaks in between, go for it. Everything here is voluntary. There's no punishment for delays, or reward for speed.

There's no punishment for mistakes, either. We only really consider things like vandalism and harassment to be serious offenses. You might get a reminder if you, say, make formatting mistakes or forget to sign your talk page posts, but we always assume good faith. It's a learning experience, and a collaborative one.

This is all to say that you don't have to apologize if you take long breaks or screw up or anything, because the wiki isn't a job. Take things easy — we appreciate everything you do.
