The fight takes place in an arena similar to [[Destruction Derby]] Stage 1. All participants are placed in this arena with an extra large version of King Dedede. While contestants can fight each-other, the point is to cooperate to defeat the king before he sends them all packing with his hammer. If all contestants are KO'd or time runs out, the game ends with no victor. | |||
Items appear sporadically - much like in Destruction Derby - which contestants can use to attack the king with. However, as Dedede takes damage, he will start moving faster and faster. His HP is considerably higher than the average racer so it will take many hits to bring him down. | |||
