Revision as of 21:38, 5 November 2010

This article or section is under construction. Therefore, please excuse its informal appearance while it's being worked on. We hope to have it completed as soon as possible.
No reason has been specified.
Four colors of Kirbys from Kirby & the Amazing Mirror and Meta Knight, a suspected Kirby.

Kirby is not the only one of his kind in his universe. Many Kirbys have appeared throughout the series, and outside of the series too. Even though some of these appearances are only cameos, some of them are actually playable.

Naming

Because there is no official name for the species, different names have been used, such as "Kirbys" or "Kirbies". Some members of the species have names, most notably Keeby and Shadow Kirby. Most other remain unnamed, with only a color swap to tell the differences with. Also, some members are usually debated as being Kirbys or not.

Games

More than one Kirby appears at a time on the screen in most of the games in the main series. Even the first game had more than one Kirby.

Kirby's Dream Land

There are several places in this game where more than one kirby appears. During the intro to the Bubbly Clouds stage, Kirby can be seen falling into a cloud, out of which pop out many different Kirbys of different sizes. Also, during the end of each stages, Kirby splits into three Kirbys to do his victory dance.

Kirby's Adventure and Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland

Different Kirbys can be seen during the Crane Fever minigame, where the player must snag a Kirby in exchange for one-ups. After each level, an extra kirby appears holding the sign. If kirby flies up to the 1 sign, he also splits in three (this does not happen in Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland), and the extra kirby with the sign is in a U.F.O. At the end of each boss stage, Kirby does his victory dance, where he also splits into three Kirbys.

In the remake of Kirby's adventure, there are also multiple kirbys, but with differences. During the title sequence, a large amount of Kirbys can be seen running across the screen. The Crane Fever minigame doesn't exist in the remake, but the Bomb Rally minigame has for Kirbys with frying pans. Also, when playing multiplayer, the other players play as different colored Kirbys.

Meta Knight, who makes his first appearance in Kirby's adventure, is under debate whether or not he is a Kirby. Without his mask, he looks like a dark blue Kirby.

Kirby's Dream Land 2

At the end of boss stages, Kirby splits into three.

Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra

During the Spring Breeze game, the appearances are the same as Kirby's Dream Land. Kirby, once again, splits into three while doing his victory dance.

In Kirby Super Star Ultra, all of the mini-games feature four Kirbys. A yellow Kirby is used as the second player in multiplayer mode in Gourmet Race. Also, Galacta Knight who appears only in Kirby Super Star Ultra, may also be a Kirby due to his similarity to Meta Knight.

Kirby's Dream Land 3

Some Kirby-like enemies appear just out of reach at certain places in this game. They are called Batamon.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards

During the mini-games, other players can play as different colored Kirbys.

Kirby & the Amazing Mirror

Multiple Kirbys can be seen doing vavrious actions in the background of the menu screens. Four Kirbys play a prominent role throughout the game. Shadow Kirby also appears as a dark version of Kirby.

Kirby DS

In the upcoming Kirby DS title, the player will have the ability to control up to ten Kirbys at a time. It is not yet known whether or not the Kirbys are one Kirby split up in the same way as Kirby & the Amazing Mirror, or seperate Kirbys on a team.
