Sandbox.png
Welcome to WiKirby's Sandbox! This page is for editing experiments. Feel free to try your skills at formatting here. To edit, click here or click edit at the top of the page, make your changes in the dialog box, and click the Save page button when you are finished. However, make sure you have everything down and that you checked it for errors so you don't have to keep editing the same thing! Content added here will not remain permanently; this page is cleared every so often.

Please remember to mind your manners while using the sandbox, and do not place anything in here that goes against policy.

Once you have learned how to edit a page, why not read the help guide for some information on how to edit and format articles?

Warning: Display title "Sandbox & such" overrides earlier display title "<span style="font-family: 'Delfino'; font-size:1.5em; line-height:1.25em; -webkit-text-fill-color: white; text-shadow: -0.04em -0.04em 0.02em black, -0.04em 0 0.02em black, -0.04em 0.04em 0.02em black, 0 0.04em 0.02em black, 0.04em 0.04em 0.02em black, 0.04em 0 0.02em black, 0.04em -0.04em 0.02em black, 0 -0.04em 0.02em black">Sandbox</span>".

Hello 3.17.72.4! Note on this: I think it's possible for me to add a {{She}} to the magic words (MyVariables.php) to call whatever gender was selected in the preferences for further personalization. And with a lot of help, I could probably get a battery of "if" tags to change the visible IP address to "the player" and a second template for the gender so that the logged out reader would see "he/she/his/her/they/their" whichever is decided upon. So in summary it may be possible to use it like this:

"{{me}} has to tilt {{my}} Game Boy Color to move Kirby in Tilt-n-Tumble."

While logged in, I'd see:
"We have to tilt our Game Boy Color to move Kirby in Tilt-n-Tumble."
While not logged in, I'd see:
"The player has to tilt the player's Game Boy Color to move Kirby in Tilt-n-Tumble."
And while logged in, with no gender set I'd see:
"We have to tilt the player's Game Boy Color..."

(but on this one we might need to set up some options such as just "the" and use them like {{my|the}} to force the anon text to make sense.

Welcome to WiKirby!
a Kirby Wiki encyclopedia that anyone can edit,
currently with 4,487 articles and counting!
Welcome to WiKirby!
This is a free encyclopedia that anyone can edit. About Kirby! We are finally 1 year old! On January 24th, WiKirby reached its first birthday! We've gotten a lot done over the past year, and we thank all of you for your help. The first year for any site is often the most difficult one, but WiKirby glided through it like Kirby on a Warpstar. But we didn't do it alone, we had the help of NIWA, all of the wikis in it, and of course, you!
Have fun and thanks for visiting! Let's make our second year even better than the first!

Editor's Picks!

Kirby's Dream Land 2 (known in Japan as 星のカービィ2 (Hoshi no Kābī Tsū), Kirby of the Stars 2) is a 2D platforming game for the Game Boy and the third game in the main Kirby series, as well as the sequel to Kirby's Dream Land. Like its predecessors, it was developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo. The game was first released in Japan on March 21, 1995 and brought to North America on May 1 of the same year, while Europe saw its release on July 31, 1995. It is notable for introducing three of Kirby's Animal Friends: Rick, Coo and Kine.

Although released for the same system as the original Kirby's Dream Land, Kirby's Dream Land 2 was designed with the Super Game Boy adapter cartridge for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in mind. When played using this hardware, the game makes use of the Super Game Boy's features to present certain scenes in more colors than normally possible and assign different preset palettes to all the areas explored by Kirby, as well as providing a special border showing Kirby and his friends on a green and white checkerboard pattern, which is displayed around the game screen.

WiKirby's Portal to Recommended Downloads
Doorway.png

WiKirby wants to share some useful tools for wiki working. Feel free to suggest anything we may have missed. If you aren't currently using any of these, we recommend looking into them at the very least. All are free of cost, easy to install, and even easier to uninstall if desired.

  • File:Mozicon.png- Mozilla Firefox offers a few extensions which can make your wiki experience much more efficient. Download the latest version here
  • File:Greasemonkeyicon.png- GreaseMonkey customizes the look of pages with Javascript, needs to be used with WikED and FireFox Download the latest version here
  • File:Gimpicon.png- GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) is a highly useful image editing software, seemingly complex at first but after a few trials, images can be cleaned, transparent, and cropped easily. Download the latest version here
  • WikED- Arguably the most useful wiki editing software in existence. Edit views will highlight templates, coding, images, references, and other text for easier edit mode viewing. Can do text replace, WYSIWYG editor, table creations, proofreading at the touch of a button, and much much more! Download the latest version here
  • File:Download.png-Skype isn't wiki specific, but is a useful method of getting ahold of the staff here and discussing things for the site, or Kirby in general. Most people associate skype with voice chatting, but we only use the text chat, since it's free and more effective than IRC. read more here.
  • Lazarus.png-Lazarus is a Firefox add-on which automatically stores everything typed into text fields. It's very helpful for when you're wiki editing, because you won't lose anything if your browser crashes or you accidentally leave the page! You can just go back, right click, and open the data with Lazarus! It can be a real lifesaver. Download it here.
