In the Kirby novel series, the Squeakers show up in Kirby Meets the Squeak Squad!. They are the combatants of the Squeaks, and serve as Daroach's lower-ranking henchmen. They only talk by squeaking, but Daroach can fully understand them.
In Kirby Meets the Squeak Squad!, when the Squeaks are discussing their plans outside Castle Dedede, the Squeakers are sent into the castle by Daroach to spy on Kirby, Waddle Dee, and King Dedede. When they return, the Squeakers report to Daroach that Kirby and co. are keeping the treasure in Waddle Dee's room, which is far east on the second floor. Later on, before the Squeaks sneak in to the room at night, the Squeakers sneak into the attic of Waddle Dee's room to send in sleeping gas so Kirby and Waddle Dee do not wake up.
