The Shadow Star (Devil Star in Japan) is a ride-able machine in Kirby Air Ride. It is dark purple with two small wings on the side and a wavy pattern on the back. It emits purple exhaust. When it charges, the vehicle turns darker purple.
The vehicle is notable for having an excellent offensive stat. It also has a great gliding stat, only slightly lower than the Wing Star. However, it has very poor defense and HP stats, which means that it can be brought down very quickly. It also has somewhat good acceleration.
In Air Ride, the player must defeat 10 or more enemies using the Quick Spin to unlock it.
The Shadow Star also makes an appearance in Kirby: Right Back at Ya! as a vehicle for a Top Air Rider.
