Sparkling Stars are objects stolen by King Dedede along with all of the food in Dream Land in Kirby's Dream Land. The citizens of Dream Land use them to "play and work among the heavens". They appear once a boss is defeated, allowing Kirby to collect it and finish the stage.

Sparkling Stars also appear in Kirby Super Star and Kirby Super Star Ultra's Spring Breeze and Milky Way Wishes modes, along with the Ultra-exclusive Revenge of the King mode.
