What's the Point?
There are some trivia points I think are interesting that just don't meet mainspace standards. As such, I made this article to chronicle some. Everyone is welcome to add points that are "medium-quality" - that is to say, not low-quality, but not high enough quality for mainspace. Examples:
Quality | Trivia Point |
---|---|
High | See mainspace trivia sections for articles marked Good. |
Medium | Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land was the last mainline title to include a score counter in normal gameplay. |
Medium | Royal Road - Stage 3 and Royal Road - Stage 8 EX are the only stages in Kirby: Triple Deluxe that don't contain a single normal Copy Ability - just Hypernova. |
Low | Kirby's Dream Land 3 is the second game to have a number in the title. |
Low | Bandana Waddle Dee's bandana has two tie sections, suggesting that the fabric in the bandana is rounded on two corners. |
Trivia
- Kirby Star Allies is the only mainline game that stores Kirby's Extra Life count in the save file, allowing Kirby to attain a higher life count than other games much faster.
- Star Allies also features a much higher maximum life count overall. Most games cap off at 99, but Star Allies allows for far more to be collected.
- Royal Road - Stage 3 and Royal Road - Stage 8 EX are the only stages in Kirby: Triple Deluxe that don't contain a single normal Copy Ability — just Hypernova.
- Royal Road - Stage 8 EX is the only stage in Kirby: Triple Deluxe to feature two Goal Doors — one is the regular stage exit, and the other is within the secret room inside the moon. Interestingly, Access Ark - Stage 8 EX also has two Goal Doors set up in the exact same way, though it is not the only stage in Kirby: Planet Robobot with more than one.
- Dark Matter is depicted inconsistently about body features, particularly the number of "fins" it has. The number varies from eight to twelve on Dark Matter itself, and other entities related to it also have varying amounts.
- Smash Ride is the only Sub-Game in Kirby: Squeak Squad which does not involve some sort of bombs. Treasure Shot sometimes substitutes the sweets for bombs, Speedy Teatime sometimes replaces the strawberries in the cakes with bombs, and Boss Endurance allows Kirby to use the Bomb Copy Ability.
- In Kirby Mass Attack, Volcano Valley features a strange set of final stages, including one that is unlocked out of order. Stage 9 comes before Stage 10 and Stage 11 numerically because Kirby Mass Attack numbers stages clockwise moving inward.
