Beam is an ability primarily obtained by absorbing a Beam-using enemy. It allows Kirby to perform one of several beam attacks, as listed below.

Kirby can also obtain the Beam ability through Copy Essence Deluxes. With the beam ability equipped, Kirby can create Waddle Doo as a helper. Kirby's visual appearance changes by turning him yellow and placing a jester-style cap on him.

Uses

The Beam Whip ability flails a magical beam attack that can damage enemies and bosses. Otherwise they are useful to hit switches, Bomb Blocks, and Star Blocks including even the ones located behind solid walls. Several areas are only accessible when Kirby manages to hit a switch or bomb block otherwise unreachable with a beam attack.
