After a steep drop, the ride takes the kids down to a water course designed to look like a barren volcanic wasteland with piles of skulls. At that moment, a big stone statue of King Dedede comes to life and starts to chase them down the castle halls. As Dedede and Escargoon watch, the cameras in their surveillance room all start to break down mysteriously, cutting off their ability to track the kids. Just as the statue is about to crush Kirby and his friends, Meta Knight swoops in and stops it. His apprentices Sword and Blade then jump in to report that all the cameras have been disabled. However, at that moment, the Dedede statue picks itself back up, prompting the soldiers to cut it down before it can crush the kids. Meta Knight then warns the kids that there may still be a monster present in the castle and to evacuate the Cappies, but is interrupted again when additional Dedede statues come to life. The kids escape as the knights battle and destroy these statues. At that moment, Dedede's surveillance team manages to get some cameras back up, only to find the statues broken. Dedede decides to call a monster in to finish the job.
