After a steep drop, the ride takes the kids down to a water course designed to look like a barren volcanic wasteland with piles of skulls. At that moment, a big stone statue of King Dedede comes to life and starts to chase them down the castle halls. As Dedede and Escargoon watch, the cameras in their surveillance room all start to break down mysteriously, cutting off their ability to track the kids. Just as the statue is about to crush Kirby and his friends, Meta Knight swoops in and stops it. His apprentices Sword and Blade then jump in to report that all the cameras have been disabled. However, at that moment, the Dedede statue picks itself back up, prompting the soldiers to cut it down before it can crush the kids. Meta Knight then warns the kids that there may still be a monster present in the castle and to evacuate the Cappies, but is interrupted again when additional Dedede statues come to life. The kids escape as the knights battle and destroy these statues. At that moment, Dedede's surveillance team manages to get some cameras back up, only to find the statues broken. Dedede decides to call a monster in to finish the job.

Out of the Monster Delivery System comes Walky: the "Microphone Monster". This monster is sent largely as a joke to berate Dedede for his overdue bills, but a plan is suggested regardless to trick Kirby into standing on the teleporter as part of a karaoke contest so he can be sent directly to eNeMeE's Fortress to be "done in" personally by the company. Escargoon mocks this idea by mimicking it on the teleporter, but receives a prompt demonstration when he is sent through the teleporter. At this, King Dedede sets off to start the contest right away. Back outside, Tiff and Tuff are in the process of convincing the Cappies to leave the carnival, but Escargoon gets their attention by announcing the karaoke contest along with massive rewards for the winners. The grand prize is a lifetime supply of watermelons, which gets Kirby's attention in particular. The Cappies are then directed into the throne room, where the teleporter has been disguised as a karaoke stage. The Cappies take turns attempting to sing, but none of them do a particularly good job, and each interrupt each-other. After Sir Ebrum takes the stage, King Dedede reminds Kirby of the watermelon prize. While the Cappies continue to fight amongst each-other, Kirby tries to force himself through the crowd. Meta Knight warns Tiff not to let Kirby get to the "stage", but at that moment, the N.M.E. Sales Guy pauses the crowd by reiterating watermelons as the grand prize, allowing Kirby to get through.
