Clanky Woods is a Boss that made its debut in Kirby: Planet Robobot, appearing as the boss of the first level of that game. It is similar to Whispy Woods in appearance, but is mechanized and able to move freely about. It also boasts a cannon in its mouth, which it uses to fire missiles.

Game Appearances

Kirby: Planet Robobot

In its debut appearance, Clanky Woods is encountered twice. Its first appearance is toward the end of a regular stage. After Kirby enters the area, a bunch of fleeing Waddle Dees pass him by. From there, Clanky enters the scene using its four spiky legs, roars upon noticing Kirby, and starts to chase him down. During this phase, Clanky can be attacked, but cannot be defeated, and instead must be avoided, similar to Heavy Lobster's first appearance in Kirby Super Star. The goal is to simply outrun the boss and eventually get away using a pipe.

The second time it is encountered is on a circular looping battlefield, much like Whispy's in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Instead of being in the middle of the area, however, Clanky chases Kirby around on the ring itself. Here, it can be attacked and defeated.

It is likely that Clanky Woods will have a tougher extra form, as well as being an opponent in The Arena.
