Kirby Super Star Ultra is a main-series Kirby game for the Nintendo DS. It is a remake of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System game KSS KFP with updated graphics and new features. It was released in late 2008, but did not see a release in Europe until a year later, in 2009. It was developed by HAL Laboratory and published by Nintendo.
Waddle Doo is an iconic round orange creature with a single large eye often found in many Kirby series games. It is most commonly encountered as an enemy, but it can be recruited as a Helper in appropriate games and in some instances is playable. Waddle Doo attacks primarily by firing a beam from its eye, but will otherwise harm Kirby by collision or trying to body-slam him, as seen in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Swallowing a Waddle Doo will typically yield Kirby the Beam ability, and if holding a parasol, it will yield him the Parasol ability.

Kirby Super Star Ultra features all of the content from the original game, including the original six main game modes and the original three Sub-Games. From here, the remake adds a new main game, six sub-games, new multiplayer features, and replaces many of the original cut-scenes with pre-rendered ones in 3D FMV. The game also features updated visuals, updated descriptions and dialogue, and new enemies, Mid-Bosses and Bosses encountered mainly in the new game modes. Many other changes, particularly to the user interface, were made to accommodate the hardware of the Nintendo DS, and many areas of the game support the use of the DS stylus.
Waddle Doo bears a very similar physique to Waddle Dee (and Kirby by extension), and can often be found in the same situations as its more down-to-earth cousins. If not distinguished by its eye, it also differs in its color scheme, bearing a more orange-red body hue with orange-yellow feet. Given that Waddle Doo's face consists only of a single giant eye with two thin eyelashes on top, it can only meaningfully communicate its emotions using eye-based expressions such as tears, dilation of its pupil, and movements of its eyelid. Despite this, Waddle Doo is capable of speaking, as evidenced in Kirby: Battle Royale and Kirby: Right Back at Ya!.

Waddle Doo bears a very similar physique to Waddle Dee (and Kirby by extension), and can often be found in the same situations as its more down-to-earth cousins. If not distinguished by its eye, it also differs in its colTemplate:Or scheme, bearing a more orange-red body hue with orange-yellow feet. Waddle Doo is often associated with the reoccurring Boss Kracko, who is able to conjure them in most of his apperences and also has a giant singular eye which can fire beams. Another form of Waddle Doo was created when Dark Matter possessed the Waddle Dee in Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. Waddle Doo also has a much larger Mid-Boss cousin known as King Doo who appears in Kirby's Return to Dream Land and Kirby: Planet Robobot, along with a few other titles.

WiKirby's Portal to Recommended Downloads
Doorway.png

WiKirby wants to share some useful tools for wiki working. Feel free to suggest anything we may have missed. If you aren't currently using any of these, we recommend looking into them at the very least. All are free of cost, easy to install, and even easier to uninstall if desired.

 • File:Mozicon.png - Mozilla Firefox offers a few extensions which can make your wiki experience much more efficient. Download the latest version here
 • File:Greasemonkeyicon.png - GreaseMonkey customizes the look of pages with Javascript, needs to be used with WikED and FireFox Download the latest version here
 • File:Gimpicon.png - GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) is a highly useful image editing software, seemingly complex at first but after a few trials, images can be cleaned, transparent, and cropped easily. Download the latest version here
 • WikED- Arguably the most useful wiki editing software in existence. Edit views will highlight templates, coding, images, references, and other text for easier edit mode viewing. Can do text replace, WYSIWYG editor, table creations, proofreading at the touch of a button, and much much more! Download the latest version here
 • File:Discord Logo.png - Discord is a free chat service which is used by several of our admins to communicate with editors and for users to talk with each-other and share news, Kirby-related or otherwise. We have a special channel which you can join by following this link: Shiver Star - WiKirby Discord. Read more here.
 • Skype icon.png - Skype isn't wiki specific, but is a useful method of getting a hold of the staff here and discussing things for the site, or Kirby in general. Most people associate skype with voice chatting, but we only use the text chat, since it's free and more effective than IRC. read more here.
 • Lazarus.png - Lazarus is a Firefox add-on which automatically stores everything typed into text fields. It's very helpful for when you're wiki editing, because you won't lose anything if your browser crashes or you accidentally leave the page! You can just go back, right click, and open the data with Lazarus! It can be a real lifesaver. Download it here.
