Mikes, also known as Microphones,[1] are an item appearing in a few Kirby games. They can be found in various places, and when picked up, Kirby will shout into them, attacking all foes within range.
Mikes were first seen in Kirby's Dream Land. They appear in fixed locations in certain stages, starting with Castle Lololo. Kirby can inhale them, but if he swallows them, nothing will happen. To use the mike, Kirby has to spit it out, where he will then proceed to shout into it, defeating all visible enemies.
In Kirby Air Ride, mikes appear as rare items in the Top Ride mode (referred to as Walky). Here, when picked up, Kirby pauses for a moment, and shouts into the mike, causing all other racers to become stunned, unable to move until the players controlling them mash out of it using the control stick.
Aside from these instances, mikes largely disappeared as a unique item when the Mike Copy Ability came into common appearance.
