Ribbon's Crystal[1] (リボンクリスタル[2] Ribbon Crystal in Japan) is a special ability for the final boss battle of Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.
Kirby 64: The Crstal Shards
In Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Ribbon's Crystal is only available via collecting all 120 Crystal Shards. Otherwise, the False Ending occurs after defeating Miracle Matter.
Ribbon's Crystal enables Kirby and Ribbon to fly around in a full 3D space while shooting Crystal Shards in order to defeat 0², the true final boss. Once the fight begins, Kirby automatically obtains the power, and is unable to lose it during the ensuing battle. As opposed to other abilities where his physical form changes, his appearance stays the same with the exception of Ribbon being paired with him. Due to the two heroes having their back to the camera, their faces cannot be seen.
If Kanji displayed is selected, Ribbon's Crystal will show 妖晶, which means "Fairy-Crystal".
Kirby: Planet Robobot
The Ribbon Icon and the Crystal Icon appear as two Stickers respectively in Kirby: Planet Robobot.
Kirby Star Allies
In Kirby Star Allies, Adeleine & Ribbon the Dream Friend can use a reminiscent technique also called Ribbon's Crystal, this time Adeleine being the shooter.
Trivia
- Ribbon's Crystal is the first 3D shooter ability in the main Kirby series. Later 3D shooter abilities include the Halberd Mode of the Robobot Armor and Star Allies Sparkler.
