I recently came across this template since it uses [[mediawikiwiki:Extension:Variables|an extension that's going to be deprecated at some point]] and then realized that it's unused (it has transclusions on pages, but never shows up because the parameters aren't filled) and hasn't been updated since 2011. I initially brought it up on the Discord before the discussion died, then came back to it and realized that since actually using this would require updating several infobox templates (along with possibly moving this template to mention that it's for levels specifically), it should probably be a full on-wiki discussion. I made [[User:Pinkyoshifan/Sandbox#Template testing|a cleaner version on my sandbox]], which [https://wikirby.com/w/index.php?title=WiKirby:Sandbox&oldid=388408 works without the base template needing to be updated for new games], so the question is should we keep and start using this template (adding links to Strategy Wiki articles that may or may not exist to mainspace level articles) or not? {{User:Pinkyoshifan/sig}} 19:42, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

Do we want to use this?

I recently came across this template since it uses an extension that's going to be deprecated at some point and then realized that it's unused (it has transclusions on pages, but never shows up because the parameters aren't filled) and hasn't been updated since 2011. I initially brought it up on the Discord before the discussion died, then came back to it and realized that since actually using this would require updating several infobox templates (along with possibly moving this template to mention that it's for levels specifically), it should probably be a full on-wiki discussion. I made a cleaner version on my sandbox, which works without the base template needing to be updated for new games, so the question is should we keep and start using this template (adding links to Strategy Wiki articles that may or may not exist to mainspace level articles) or not? ---PinkYoshiFan 19:42, 21 November 2022 (UTC)

WiKirby is largely written from a descriptive point of view, disallowing the practice of addressing and guiding players. This is a perfect example where another NIWA wiki can be embraced. Not only WiKirby should do this, but other NIWA wikis should consider this too. –Wiz (talk · edits) 23:37, 21 November 2022 (UTC)
