::That's a shame. This sort of customisation was a big part of Ax's vision for the site. What is the pronoun version being replaced by? I believe the original dilemma that led to the templates being made was someone being passionate about not wanting to use the singular "they".--[[User:Vellidragon|Vellidragon]] ([[User talk:Vellidragon|talk]]) 02:58, 29 January 2020 (UTC)

Delete

I find this template to be useful to absolutely no-one. All it does is display a username over "the player" when someone is logged in. Should we delete it? Toadette the Achiever (talk) 01:50, 20 January 2019 (UTC)

We've had this question before. While it is true that the template has no real practical function, it is a quirk that we enjoy having. I won't blame you if you don't end up using it, but this is a template that is used extensively throughout the wiki, so deleting it would mean a lot of clean-up. Might as well leave it. --Fubaka (talk) 04:31, 20 January 2019 (UTC)
Yeah I still want this to be removed. It's unnecessary Results May Vary (talk) 20:53, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
Not sure what to do with you guys. If you honestly think the wiki would be better without it, we could ask Velli and maybe put it to a vote. I will still be electing to keep it though. --Fubaka (talk) 20:56, 19 February 2019 (UTC)
Now that wiki might've gotten a few more editors around to start with, I think it'd be a considerable time for some kind of voting. Not too many votes to pick the ultimate decision based on, but in any way you're getting feedback with no pressure to hassly have it changed, and this isn't a core gimmick of the wiki. —Viperision (talk) 18:34, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
I discussed this with Velli, and it is her wish that we keep this convention. It is a holdover from an early effort by Axiomist and others to personalize the wiki, so the template itself serves as a memorial to their early efforts. --Fubaka (talk) 19:24, 11 July 2019 (UTC)

Removed?

Why is this being reverted to "the player" now? I thought we were keeping it?--Vellidragon (talk) 01:48, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

During the policy referendum, we agreed to stop using the template. It was only causing confusion for new editors. --Fubaka (talk) 02:37, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
