After defeating [[Octacon]], [[Tiff]] and [[Tuff]] try to find [[Kirby (anime)|Kirby]] a home. But [[King Dedede (anime)|King Dedede]] tries to prevent it, and asks [[Tokkori]] to help him.  Nightmare Enterprises has new monsters, but he hates them. It soon starts to rain, and Tiff, Tuff and Kirby run to a [[Cappy]]'s house. The Cappy offers them to come inside and get out of the rain. Tiff asks if she would let Kirby live there. However, she says no and slams the window shut. It stops raining.  They go to Chef Kawasaki's restaurant, and he refuses.  He tells them they should make Kirby live in King Dedede's Castle, but King Dedede hates Kirby. Then he says any enemy of King Dedede is a friend of his. Kirby runs inside, with Tiff and Tuff peeking through a door.  King Dedede shoves in, and Kirby keeps messing up because King Dedede was causing problems on purpose. Kirby is thrown out, and Kawasaki said Kirby is ruining his house. Tiff and Kirby leave, going to a Cappy's gas station. Tokkori encourages Kirby to press a button, and Kirby presses it, causing an explosion. Kirby is kicked out again, so they go to Mr.Curio's. Kirby breaks something and gets kicked out for the fourth time. Kirby then goes into Tokkori's nest, and he's kicked out. [[Coo]] recommends a tree house, but King Dedede destroys it. He then drops [[Blocky]], and grows.  They battle, but Kirby is defeated. He is even flattened, so Tiff and Tuff have to "fatten him up again." Kirby then tries to inhale rocks, then boulders. He is not enough to inhale boulders. [[Meta Knight (anime)|Meta Knight]] explains that Blocky can't be inhaled. However, they find away to inhale part of him and get the [[Stone]] ability. He transforms, and Mini Blockies appear. They are revived. Blocky and Kirby fall in the sea, and Blocky is sunk. Kirby runs into [[Kine]] and loses his ability, but survives.  Kirby's friends make a new house for him, and Tokkori is in his bed, so Kirby sleeps in a tree.

The episode begins at [[Castle Dedede]], where [[King Dedede (anime character)|King Dedede]] is spying on [[Kirby (anime character)|Kirby]] playing with the kids of [[Cappy Town]]. He plots to get rid of Kirby by calling in a new monster from [[Night Mare Enterprises]]. After Kirby suffers a mishap with a jump rope, [[Tiff]], [[Tuff]], and the other children wonder if he should be playing around when a storm kicks up, prompting all to seek shelter. Kirby tries to flee into an opening in a nearby tree, but is pushed out by [[Tokkori]] who is nesting there. Taking shelter at [[Hana]]'s house, the kids wonder if Kirby can stay with anyone. They ask Hana to let Kirby live in her house but, recalling the dinner scene from episode 1, she curtly refuses with a fake chuckle.

The kids set out to find Kirby a place to stay after the rain stops. They start with [[Chef Kawasaki (anime character)|Chef Kawasaki]], who agrees to take Kirby on as a waiter at [[Kawasaki's|his restaurant]]. Kirby works well at first, but King Dedede and [[Escargoon]] drop by to trip Kirby up and make him look bad. The plan works, causing Kawasaki to fire Kirby, even though he knows it's not his fault. The King then colludes with Tokkori, who also wants Kirby gone. Tokkori flies off and finds Kirby in [[Professor Curio]]'s collection helping inspect relics, and sabotages Kirby's attempts to become Curio's assistant by making him break one of the pots. A similar sabotage prevents Kirby from pumping gasoline with [[Gus]], blowing up the gas station in the process.
 
After another rejection from Tokkori, the kids plan to build Kirby a treehouse to live in, and recruit many [[Cappy (anime)|Cappies]] to help them with construction. Seeing this, King Dedede calls [[Night Mare Enterprises]] to order a monster to get rid of Kirby. The monster they send is [[Blocky]], a "super high density" rock monster capable of changing sizes, who demonstrates its abilities by crashing through multiple floors of the castle. Later on, the townsfolk gather to celebrate the completion of Kirby's tree house, but King Dedede shows up in his [[Armored Vehicle]] and destroys it with a blast from his cannon. They then dispatch Blocky to defeat Kirby in combat. The fight does not go well for Kirby at first, and he ends up being flattened into a tarp that Tiff and Tuff have to wrangle with to get Kirby back to his normal shape. Kirby then attempts to inhale Blocky, but to no avail, as the monster is simply too heavy. During the fight, Blocky topples Tokkori's tree, and when Tokkori flies over to the King to complain about this, he gets blasted away by the cannon on his vehicle, making the bird realize that Dedede was not on his side.

After getting away from Blocky, Tiff and Tuff try to prepare Kirby for a rematch. Using a tip from Meta Knight, they have Kirby try to inhale stones, but they find he cannot inhale the bigger ones. They do realize he could make them budge with the help of gravity, however, so they trick Blocky into standing on a cliff and use Kirby's inhale to make it fall, splitting it into four smaller Blockys that Kirby is able to inhale. Kirby eats one of the Blocky pieces and transforms into [[Stone]] Kirby. Kirby then battles the remaining Blocky pieces and manages to best them. In a last-ditch-effort, Blocky reforms into one monster, but Kirby tricks it by walking to an overhang cliff over the ocean and having Blocky pound through and sink into the water. Kirby reverts to normal and spits out the remaining Blocky piece in the water, as the monster sinks into the ocean depths, never to be heard from again. The assembled Cappy Town residents cheer at this victory, including Tokkori.
 
Some time later, a [[Kirby's House|new house]] is built for Kirby on a hillside near a tree, which resembles the one from the video games. Kirby goes in to have a look and tries the bed, but he is thrown off by Tokkori who was sleeping in it. Tokkori says he is taking over the house, relegating Kirby to the nest in the tree. Despite initial complaints from Tiff, Kirby seems fine with the arrangement, as he immediately falls asleep in the nest. The assembled characters laugh as the episode ends.
 
==Differences between versions==
*A minor shot is cut in the international versions from the scene in Chef Kawasaki's restaurant where Kawasaki scolds Kirby after a sabotage from Dedede.
*Two entire scenes are cut from the international versions:
**The first scene involves the kids trying to get Kirby hired at the police station as Chief Bookem's deputy. Tokkori sabotages Kirby by throwing a live machine gun in his hands, causing Kirby to panic and shoot the whole building to pieces.
**The second cut scene comes right after, as the kids try to get Kirby a job at Samo's bar as a mixer, but is sabotaged there as well, causing the group to be doused in beer.
*A few visual differences are present between versions:
**King Dedede's [[Armored Vehicle]] is painted in toy-like colors in the international versions, but retains its jungle camouflage motif in the Japanese version.
**During the gas station scene, the sticker Tokkori slaps on the button is different: in the Japanese version, it bears Kirby's likeness with a [[wikipedia:No symbol|no symbol]] over it, but in the international versions, it is a blank green sticker.
*The scenes where the [[Monster Delivery System]] emerges and after Blocky appears from it are much slower-paced in the Japanese version, with additional shots.
*During the scene where King Dedede is lamenting the loss of Blocky, a shot where the King starts punching Escargoon is cut from the international versions.

*During the jump rope scene, Fololo & Falala are simply counting up in the Japanese version, rather than singing a song.

A Blockbuster Battle is the second episode of the Kirby: Right Back at Ya! series. In this episode, the people of Cappy Town build Kirby a house to stay in after failing to find a home for him with any of the other residents. King Dedede attempts to thwart this, ultimately calling in the monster Blocky from Night Mare Enterprises, but fails when Kirby defeats it using the Stone ability. This episode features Tokkori and Hana's first speaking roles, and also introduces Chef Kawasaki, the Animal Friends Rick & Kine & Coo, and many more of the Cappies.

Kirby reverts to normal and spits out the remaining Blocky piece in the water, as the monster sinks into the ocean depths, never to be heard from again. The assembled Cappy Town residents cheer at this victory, including Tokkori.

Some time later, a new house is built for Kirby on a hillside near a tree, which resembles the one from the video games. Kirby goes in to have a look and tries the bed, but he is thrown off by Tokkori who was sleeping in it. Tokkori says he is taking over the house, relegating Kirby to the nest in the tree. Despite initial complaints from Tiff, Kirby seems fine with the arrangement, as he immediately falls asleep in the nest. The assembled characters laugh as the episode ends.

Differences between versions[edit]

  • A minor shot is cut in the international versions from the scene in Chef Kawasaki's restaurant where Kawasaki scolds Kirby after a sabotage from Dedede.
  • Two entire scenes are cut from the international versions:
    • The first scene involves the kids trying to get Kirby hired at the police station as Chief Bookem's deputy. Tokkori sabotages Kirby by throwing a live machine gun in his hands, causing Kirby to panic and shoot the whole building to pieces.
    • The second cut scene comes right after, as the kids try to get Kirby a job at Samo's bar as a mixer, but is sabotaged there as well, causing the group to be doused in beer.
  • A few visual differences are present between versions:
    • King Dedede's Armored Vehicle is painted in toy-like colors in the international versions, but retains its jungle camouflage motif in the Japanese version.
    • During the gas station scene, the sticker Tokkori slaps on the button is different: in the Japanese version, it bears Kirby's likeness with a no symbol over it, but in the international versions, it is a blank green sticker.
  • The scenes where the Monster Delivery System emerges and after Blocky appears from it are much slower-paced in the Japanese version, with additional shots.
  • During the scene where King Dedede is lamenting the loss of Blocky, a shot where the King starts punching Escargoon is cut from the international versions.

Dialogue differences[edit]

  • During the jump rope scene, Fololo & Falala are simply counting up in the Japanese version, rather than singing a song.
  • The international versions cut out Kirby's line "Stone Kirby!" during the fight with Blocky.
