"Opening" is a calm and mysterious theme starting in 3/4 time and F major. The theme begins with a short drumbeat, followed with a warbling synth playing the melody, a descending bass,woodwind-like instruments playing the last three eighth-notes of each measure, and some percussion backing up the tune. The eight-measure phrase repeats itself twice before changing the lead instrument into a different synth playing long notes. After this portion, the time signature changes from 3/4 to 4/4.
