Capiller

Capillers[1], otherwise known as Caterpillars, Worms, or Bugs, are an uncommon hazard that appear in some Kirby titles. They are small worm-like creatures with yellow and brown stripes on their bodies and two giant beady eyes on one end. If Kirby attempts to inhale them, he will take damage, so they must be avoided or hit with an attack instead.
Game appearances
Kirby Super Star / Kirby Super Star Ultra
Capillers first appeared in this title. They are dropped by Twin Woods during some if its attacks in addition to Gordos and Apples. In Revenge of the King, they are also dropped by Whispy's Revenge, though here, they are larger and purple in color.
Capillers also appear in the Sub-Game Snack Tracks, where they may appear on the conveyor belts. the player will need to flick them off using the Nintendo DS stylus to prevent Kirby from eating them. Capillers sometimes also in a Maxim Tomato during the sub-game.
Team Kirby Clash, Team Kirby Clash Deluxe & Super Kirby Clash
In the Kirby: Planet Robobot Sub-Game Team Kirby Clash, its standalone deluxe version and its sequel, Whispy Woods appears as a boss. In all three iterations, he may drop Capillers from his canopy, though since the Kirbys cannot inhale in these games, they are no different from apples in function here.
Kirby Star Allies
In the Chop Champs Sub-Game, Capillers make up the main hazard on the logs. They may shift back and forth while the log comes down, and will not harm Kirby if they are shifted back. Otherwise, Kirby will be temporarily halted if a Capiller hits him.
Kirby Fighters 2
In Kirby Fighters 2, Capillers are once again dropped by Twin Woods alongside their Gordos and Apples. Here, their official name is confirmed in one of Twin Woods' pause screen captions.
Trivia
- The icon for Chop Champs includes a winking Capiller.
- According to an early bio about Kirby, one of Kirby's least favorite things are caterpillars, likely because they are poisonous to him.
- Amusingly, in the "Dyna Blade" segment of the Special-Edition Blooper Reel from Kirby Super Star Ultra, a Capiller lands on Kirby while he's napping, causing him to panic and then faint.
- Ironically, Kirby is much more fond of butterflies and will try to chase them.
