Game appearances
The level begins on the shore of a flat island, with a couple palm trees on it, and a plain view of the ocean in the background. To the left, the water can be accessed, but care should be taken not to swim too deep, or Kirby will lose a life. The actual path continues to the right, which leads to a plethora of enemies to deal with. One of them, past a couple star blocks, is a clam-like enemy called a Wizzer. It fires beams from its eye, but cannot be inhaled when its shell is closed. The easiest way to defeat it is to shoot a projectile at it from afar while it's firing its beam. Further ahead, some of the palm trees hold coconuts. Kirby should be wary, as he appears to have the worst luck in all of Dream Land. These coconuts are sure to fall when he passes under them, and will also explode to top it all off. Kirby can inhale them to subvert this. From there, the island gives way to open water, with disparate and dispersed platforms therein. Kirby will have to progress with care, as there is not a lot of leeway to deal with the enemies holding ground on the islets. There are also numerous enemies making trouble in the water. The door to the next section can be found along some plateaus at the right end of the screen.

Float Islands is the third stage of Kirby's Dream Land, and takes place in a series of tropical islands in Dream Land. The stage is fairly straightforward, similar to Green Greens, but features a lot more water along with trickier terrain. There are a total of seven rooms to traverse here, with two of them being optional side areas. The boss at the end of the stage is Kaboola, who Kirby battles using the Mint Leaf item.

Room breakdown
The first room consists of a handful of islands of various size protruding from a bottomless body of water. Kirby will need to hop along each island while avoiding coconuts from the palm trees above and Blippers and Squishys from the water below. A bomb and a mike can be found here which Kirby can suck up and use against his enemies. After crossing several wide bodies of water, Kirby will find the way forward through a door embedded in the side of a cliff.

The door leads to a cave, with the path leading to the right. Kirby should mind the spikes in the ceiling and in the floor as he descends the first shaft. To the left from here past a blockade of several star blocks is an Energy Drink, which Kirby may well need after the previous section. As he ascends the next shaft to the right, Kirby should mind the coconut that will fall on him by surprise if he didn't see it on the way down. There are two paths to take from here. One in particular is an apparent dead end, a large pile of star blocks in the corner. However, there is a hidden doorway behind one of them. This leads to a separate area that consists of a long swim to receive a 1Up, then returns to the cave. The path downward leads past lots of spikes and annoying warping Kabu. The most notable obstacle is a Gordo in front of a barrier of star blocks. From there, two more paths can be taken. The upper one leads to a luscious Maxim Tomato. The lower leads to the next section.
The second room takes place in an underground area, featuring a long and winding path compressed into a rectangular area. In here, Kirby will need to mind more falling coconuts, vanishing Kabu, and beds of spikes along with patrolling Gordos. A number of side paths can be taken to reach food items, including a hidden door leading to a side room featuring a deep-dive. The main door forward can be found in the lower-right corner.

The door leads back out to the islets. Past a body of water, Kirby can then board a wooden ship, and eat a dish of Superspicy Curry to deal with the crew. Along the way, Kirby can access a cabin to acquire a few more items. Further along, past a number of Shotzos, the door to the next section can be reached on the right.
The third room is dominated by a large wooden ship which Kirby can infiltrate using a dish of Superspicy Curry to deal with the crew. Along the way, Kirby can access a cabin through a round-trip door to acquire a few more items. Further along, past a number of Shotzos, the door to the next room can be reached on the right.

The door leads to a room inside the skip, where Kirby can access a Warp Star. From there, he flies off, out of the ship, and into the background toward a large black shadow. This turns out to be a whale, as Kirby then gets stuck inside its blowhole. The whale then shoots him out, which sends him flying high into the sky.
The fourth room is a small one, where Kirby can access a Warp Star which will take him out of the ship and into the background toward a large whale. Kirby then gets stuck inside its blowhole, and the whale shoots him out, which sends him flying high into the sky and to the next room.

Kirby lands in a cloud canopy, with a number of striped columns in the background. The path continues to the right, past a couple of enemies, until a Mint Leaf is encountered. Touching this causes Kirby to swell up, and be able to release multiple air puffs without landing, essentially hiccuping through the sky. With this unorthodox method of attack, Kirby then engages in an aerial battle with Kaboola, the boss of the level. In order to defeat this angry blimp, Kirby has to simply keep firing at her, all the while avoiding her attacks. Defeating Kaboola allows Kirby to collect the third Sparkling Star and proceed to the next level, Bubbly Clouds.
The last room has Kirby briefly walking along a cloud platform until he reaches a Mint Leaf. Once Kirby picks up this item, he is taken to an aerial battle with with Kaboola, the boss of the stage. Using the Mint Leaf, Kirby can defeat Kaboola and collect the third Sparkling Star to complete the stage.

Synopsis
Float Islands in Spring Breeze has many of the same elements as its equivalent stage in Kirby's Dream Land, but due to having been merged with Castle Lololo, the second half is almost completely different. The main differences by room are as follows:
*The first room is much shorter and contains fewer enemies, with Knuckle Joe greeting Kirby at the start.
*The second room is greatly simplified, and now contains ladders. The side area accessible from here is just a room filled with water, coconuts, and a 1-Up.
*The third room replaces the wooden ship with an entryway to a castle. Here, Kirby is given some Invincible Candy to power through the enemies in the way.
*The fourth room takes place inside the castle, and tasks Kirby with defeating the Mid-Boss Mr. Frosty before taking the Warp Star. Instead of flying to a whale, Kirby flies to Castle Lololo in the background.
*The last room takes place outside a smaller version of Castle Lololo instead of up in the clouds, and there is no Mint Leaf to collect. Instead, Kirby makes his way past a couple ability-providing enemies to get to the door that takes him to the fight with Lololo & Lalala.

Trivia

 • This stage introduced items such as the Mint Leaf and the Superspicy Curry. However, these items would never appear again in a main series Kirby installment, instead only making brief cameos in spinoffs and sub-games, having been made obsolete by the introduction of Copy Abilities in later titles.
 • This is the only stage in Kirby's Dream Land which does not feature a Mid-Boss.
