This article is about the slow paced Gourmet Race remix. For the Kirby's Adventure cutscene theme that plays at the beginning of The Fountain of Dreams, see Level 8 Demo.

"Fountain of Dreams", also known as "Dream Land" and "Gourmet Race (Melee)", is a musical track that first appeared in the Fountain of Dreams stage of Super Smash Bros. Melee. It is a slower paced remix of Gourmet Race, with a more dramatic tone. It is one of the few Kirby songs that originally debuted in a Super Smash Bros. game and was later incorporated into the games.

Game appearances

Super Smash Bros. series

"Fountain of Dreams" debuts in Super Smash Bros. Melee, and is used in the Fountain of Dreams stage. It can also play in the Green Greens stage in Adventure Mode and is one of Kirby's credits themes.

This version reappears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as one of the themes that can play on the Green Greens stage, under the name "Fountain of Dreams (Melee)", and it has a random chance of being unlocked when the player collects a CD. It returns again in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U under the name "The Fountain of Dreams" (American English) / "Gourmet Race (Melee)" (British English), in which it can play in the DLC stage Dream Land (64) and is unlocked upon downloading that stage. It returns once again in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate under the name "Gourmet Race (Melee)" and can play in any Kirby series stage, as well as Battlefield, its derivatives, and Final Destination.

Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land

In Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, an arrangement of "The Fountain of Dreams" plays when battling King Dedede in the Fountain of Dreams. This version was arranged by Jun Ishikawa.[1]

Kirby Air Ride

In Kirby Air Ride, an arrangement of "The Fountain of Dreams" can be unlocked as an alternate track for Nebula Belt. It is arranged by Hirokazu Ando,[2] and is very faithful to the original version.

Kirby: Canvas Curse

When playing with the old school sound turned on, Drawcia Sorceress's theme is replaced by the Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land arrangement of the theme.

Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition

In Kirby's Dream Collection Special Edition, the "Fountain of Dreams" arrangement of Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land plays when selecting it in the Kirby's History mode.

Kirby: Triple Deluxe

The Kirby Air Ride arrangement of the theme is reused in Royal Road - Stage 8 EX, playing when Kirby has the Hypernova ability.

Kirby Fighters Deluxe

The arrangement from Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land is reused in Kirby Fighters Deluxe for the first part of the Team DDD battle in the Very Hard difficulty; this version is also used when battling on the Fountain of Dreams in Multiplayer or Training mode.

Kirby Fighters 2

In Kirby Fighters 2, the Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land version of the theme is reused for the Fountain of Dreams Battle Stage. A new arrangement of the theme is used as the stage's secret song, arranged by Kiyoshi Hazemoto.[1]

Kirby's Dream Buffet

The Fountain of Dreams Secret Song from Kirby Fighters 2, named "Kirby Fighters 2: Memorial Song 1" in-game, can be unlocked in Kirby's Dream Buffet as a song for races and Free Rolling upon reaching Gourmet Rank 20.

The arrangement from Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, named "Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land: Memorial Song 2" in-game, can be unlocked as a song for races and Free Rolling upon reaching Gourmet Rank 122.

Other appearances
