"Grand Opening"[Japanese title] is the opening theme of Kirby Super Star and its remake. It plays during all three variants of the opening cutscene of said games. The theme was composed by Jun Ishikawa.[1]

Composition

Kirby merrily flies through the grassy fields of Dream Land.

"Grand Opening" is a merry theme that is in C major, 4/4, and has a pretty fast tempo. It open up with a jingle that plays A-D with twinkling synths as the trumpets open up the song in rapid major-ninth sixteenth notes while keeping up the principal tonic of the theme. This jingle would later be referenced in Kirby Star Allies in the very beginning of "Let's Be Friends♡", another opening theme for that game. As Kirby faithfully rides through the grassy fields on his Warp Star, the scene transitions to the game's title screen and as a result, ends with a sudden fanfare.

Other appearances

"Grand Opening" fittingly starts off the "Kirby Super Star Medley" in the Kirby 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert. The medley was arranged by Shogo Sakai, and conducted by Taizo Takemoto, being the 6th in the concert.
