Knitting Needles is one of the six Ravel Abilities present in Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn. When obtained, it gives Kirby a hat of yarn which allows him to create yarn balls without having to wrap up an enemy first.

To create a yarn ball, the player can hold the B button after Kirby throws out the Yarn Whip. If an enemy is ensnared by the whip, the Knitting Needles can be used to weave an even larger yarn ball by combining the enemy with the yarn ball being produced. Yarn balls produced by this ability have the same properties as standard yarn balls made from enemies.

In addition, there are two separate alternate versions of this hat that can be obtained by scanning the Kirby and Waddle Dee amiibo into the game. The former hat is called the Star Hat, while the latter is called the Waddle Dee Hat. Aside from the names and look, they function exactly the same as the regular ability.

Trivia

  • In Japanese, knitting needles are known as 編み棒 (amibō). The Japanese name of Yin-Yarn (アミーボ・アモーレ Amībo Amōre) is also derived from the same term.
    • Note that the amiibo item's name origin is not related to knitting needles.
