Lasers are course hazards present in a handful of Kirby games, starting with Kirby Air Ride. They emanate continually from a focal point, which is usually embedded in a floor, wall, or ceiling, and stretch across the screen in a straight line until they hit an obstacle. Touching a laser will harm Kirby and knock him back, but they can be turned off using switches, blocked using Rainbow lines/ropes, or powered through while invincible. Lasers cannot be destroyed by any means, but they can be permanently blocked in some cases using barriers.
Game appearances
Kirby Air Ride
Lasers first appear as a hazard in Kirby Air Ride, specifically in the Frozen Hillside course. Here, they serve as a relatively minor obstacle, moving up and down in the lower hallway near the start of the course, just before the long rail section. Touching a laser will deal minor fire-based damage to Kirby, but they can be momentarily switched off by tapping the floor panel by braking with A (this is not necessary for wheeled vehicles).

In [[Kirby: Canvas Curse|Template:KCC KPP]], lasers are a more substantial and dangerous hazard, as they often block hallways and will knock Kirby back in addition to hurting him if touched. Lasers in this game can be circumvented by blocking them using Rainbow Lines.
Kirby: Triple Deluxe
- Main article: Sliding laser robot
In Kirby: Triple Deluxe, a particular device appears in Lollipop Land - Stage 2 which continually emanates lasers that shoot upward from the machine. These lasers are harmful to touch, but they can also be used to melt ice blocks. Kirby can reposition the machine using his Hypernova inhale in order to take advantage of the lasers or to just move them out of the way.

In [[Kirby and the Rainbow Curse|Template:KatRC KatRP]], lasers function much the same way as they do in Template:KCC KPP, and can be blocked in a similar manner. In this game, however, they can also interfere with each-other, which is demonstrated in certain rooms of the Challenge Mode. Additionally, the boss Hooplagoon makes use of lasers as his main means of attack, though these turn on and off at regular intervals.
