Pound stakes into the ground with the Stone and Hammer abilities!
— In-game tip from Kirby Star Allies

A Stake (also called a Peg or Post) is a wooden post object that sticks out from the ground. It appears in many Kirby games, starting with Kirby's Adventure, and appears in all subsequent titles featuring the Hammer Copy Ability. Stakes are found in various areas and serve as a type of switch that can only be pressed down using certain attacks. When pressed, a stake triggers a chain reaction of destroying blocks or a similar effect in the same manner as a Bomb Block.

Variants[edit]

Super Stake[edit]

In addition to normal stakes, there is also a giant Super Stake that can only be pounded in using the Grand Hammer Super Ability. The Super Stake can either get pounded in incrementally, or all at once, depending on the power of the hammer swing.

Frozen Stake[edit]

In Kirby Star Allies, some stakes can be found encrusted in ice. To pound these, the ice must first be broken away, which can be done with any fire-based attack or more directly with a Sizzle Hammer.

Wall Stake[edit]

In Kirby Star Allies, stakes can be found in walls. These can only be hit using one of the three types of Curling or the Giant Swing move for Hammer.

Electric Stake[edit]

In Kirby Star Allies, there is a special electric variety of stake which is typically attached to a wire. If hit, it will simply reset unless hit with a Zap Hammer or with Geokinesis. If submerged in water, this stake cannot be activated at all.

Nail[edit]

Nails appear in Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and function identically to stakes, although in some cases multiple nails on the same object need to be hit for anything to happen. They can also appear on walls.

Abilities/Attacks that can pound stakes[edit]
