Chocolate Fountain is one of the eight Race stages in Kirby's Dream Buffet. It is unlocked upon reaching a Gourmet Rank of 47, and has the Kirbys racing across a multitude of bowls of molten chocolate, keeping out of the muck by bouncing along floating treats.

Overview[edit]

This stage is made up mainly of several giant pots of molten chocolate which form large lakes which the Kirbys need to cross by hopping across floating treats, as trying to roll through the chocolate itself is very slow. Many of these treats form flotillas that rotate together slowly in the pots. These pots are broken up by trackways made of plates which have additional obstacles to contend with. The treats that float in the chocolate are varied, and include things like cookies, crackers, marshmallows, and slices of fruit including apple, pineapple, kiwi, avocado, mango, banana, and citrus. Some variants also include pancakes and waffles as treats. As might be expected, puddles of chocolate also serve as hazards on the plate trackways outside the fountains themselves.

Variants of this stage differ in the particulars, but they all follow the same basic structure and have the following sections in the following order:

  • A series of three smaller chocolate pots leading up to the first Crumbling Cookie Wall.
  • A trackway of plates leading to a tall chocolate fountain with a cannon on top which can skip Kirby past the second crumbling wall.
  • A large rectangular chocolate pot filled with multiple paths leading to the Strawberry Mountains at the end.

Variant details[edit]

The following are noteworthy details for each variant of this stage that cause them to differ from one-another. Note that each variant is named after the color of the background:

There are no significant visual differences between the stages aside from the background color. There are more subtle decorations and preview layouts that can be used to quickly identify them, however.

  • The series of cookies leading to the top of the chocolate fountain can be accessed on the right hand side.
