Name origin[edit]

So there's dispute over "derived from 'clay'" thing. As I've already stated, I'm against including it, as it is obvious. By stating the obvious, I believe that it sounds very awkward, redundant, and possibly even insulting the reader's intelligence. It is also against one of the mantras specified in the writing specifics policy. Twice you have not answered to my point, and I hope that it was because of some misunderstanding, and so to not continue edit war I'm bringing the issue here. I'm awaiting response. Bump. Doing so because someone tried to remove the dispute template...even though this discussion hasn't continued for a little over 6 months. – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 01:25, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
They may have removed the notice due to a more recent edit which added this description to the page: "Clayn appears as a featureless, clay-like lump, hence the name". I believe this compromise is good enough to solve the dispute, as it neither "insults the reader's intelligence" nor "states the obvious" for the sake of stating it. Yeah, saying that it's clay-like seems like a good outcome since then the word clay is mentioned but it's not trying to explicitly state the obvious. ---PinkYoshiFan 13:52, 22 February 2024 (UTC)
