What exactly is this for? Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 15:48, 8 July 2010 (UTC)

Good question. As it is, it can't be used on any pages, if we force it to the right, it would be something like the help navbar. I personally dislike vertical lists with single line entries. My other complaint is the abilities being broken up by alphabetical order. I think we'll need to eventually resort the copy abilities by effect or something, my user page has a simple but yet to be fully developed proposal. Axiomist (talk) 00:31, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Personally, I'm not a big fan of lists that are sorted by anything else than alphabetical order, unless the way they are arranged is immediately obvious to the average reader and indisputable (e.g. World 2 comes after World 1). Especially for templates intended to make navigation quicker and easier, having to scan the entire list to find what one is looking for can be very annoying. Non-alphabetical lists were an issue on the MarioWiki, leading to a number of proposals to enforce alphabetical order - of course, the standards of other Wikis do not necessarily apply to this one, but if people have trouble navigating non-alphabetical lists on a Mario Wiki, they will have just as much trouble with that on a Kirby Wiki. We can also not forget that people come here to learn about Kirby, and thus may lack the knowledge of specific attributes of abilities and the like; WiKirby should certainly inform them about these very things, but it makes more sense to me to keep that to the articles themselves than potentially prevent people from even finding them. Just my view on this issue though.--Vellidragon 00:55, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Understood, I do want to avoid problems other wikis had. Question now is, should it stay in ladder form, something more akin to the column formatted lists, or something else entirely? Axiomist (talk) 01:55, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
I would say it should just use the same formatting as the existing navigation templates (apart from the help one); these work out rather well. So does the help navigation template, of course, but that's because it's not particularly long and is only used on pages that don't use infoboxes. This one requires a lot of scrolling the way it is formatted at the moment (more than two screens in Firefox with a 1024x768 screen resolution) and would also probably go on the ability pages, which already have an infobox on the right - the combined width of this template and the ability infobox could drastically limit the words per line in the article text (especially for low screen resolutions), which may make it rather difficult to read.--Vellidragon 14:08, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
So something like this? Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 14:34, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
I was attempting to make something like this: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Template:Glitches LuKirbio 16:14, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
So is the link I provided above basically what you wanted to be shown? Also, LuKirbio, for ease, you can link to bulbapedia by putting bp: ahead of the bulbapedia article you want to link to, such as [[bp:template:Glitches]]. That would show bp:Template:Glitches. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 16:37, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

RESET: Yeah, that's what I wanted. And thanks for the BP thing. I'm SpecialK on Bulbapedia BTW LuKirbio 09:44, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
