Characters[edit]

  • Note: playful writing used. This is a rough overview, not a mainspace-ready draft. Need to sort by chronology when possible.
  • Kirby: gluttonous to an extreme, playful and often takes threats on a more minor scale lightly. Cares deeply for his friends and stands up for Dream Land when things get dire. Can use his Copy Ability at will besides inhaling. Physical difference: has a singular fang.
  • King Dedede: ruler of Dream Land, Kirby's nemesis, with whom he often fights for food. Relatively unexaggerated traits, with the exception of his ego.
  • Meta Knight: masked swordsman and Kirby's rival, prides himself on skill and elegance. Ego and quirks often grotesquely exaggerated.
  • Marx: mischievous alien who plots to take over or destroy Dream Land, depending on his mood, often just picks a fight with Kirby for petty reasons. Has hands.
  • Box Boxer: laid-back and accepting of Kirby's plot armor, his bad puns and jokes stun just about everyone.
  • Knuckle Joe
  • Cool Spook
  • Chilly
  • Paint Roller
  • Gao Gao
  • Daroach
  • Galacta Knight
  • Magolor
  • Taranza

At the castle, Drawcia traps King Dedede and his subordinates in paintings, plotting to transform Dream Land into her masterpiece once more. When Kirby arrives, he begins admiring the paintings of Castle Dedede's residents and scribbles on King Dedede's painting. Drawcia threatens Kirby with her Magic Paintbrush but realizes that Kirby already took it and is drawing a copy of himself, which comes to life.

Preparing for battle, Kirby draws a bunch of food that he eats on the spot, while Drawcia snatches back her paintbrush and showers Kirby in bombs. Kirby manages to take the paintbrush back and makes a kebab missile that strikes Drawcia. However, she recovers the brush since Kirby threw it together with the missile, and she draws a cage over Kirby. All seems lost as Drawcia gloats until Kirby jumps out of nowhere and steals the paintbrush again, revealing that the Kirby in the cage is the copy he drew earlier. Kirby draws a lightning bolt over Drawcia and finishes her off with a storm. This frees the residents of Castle Dedede. King Dedede solemnly thanks Kirby for rescuing them, unaware that the scribbles Kirby drew earlier are still a part of his look.

Chapter 8: Meta Knight Causes a Commotion![edit]

Main characters:

Supporting/minor characters:

Cameos:

A new year starts in Dream Land, and its residents are ready to spend it as lazily as the last. Gao Gao spots a meteorite headed for Dream Land with a telescope and runs off to warn the rest. Meanwhile, Meta Knight arrives on the Halberd, setting out to put an end to Dream Land's lazy lifestyle (not unlike a similar story in Kirby Super Star). Kirby seconds Meta Knight's thoughts on laziness but is quick to display it himself, reading manga under a table. The rest join him, and Meta Knight makes an over-the-top dramatic speech about the inelegance of their manga. Meta Knight proclaims that he will be the new protagonist of the manga and asks for a duel with Kirby for the main spot. Kirby ignores this request until Meta Knight discloses that his own manga will enforce discipline at a school, limit others to only playing Meta Knightmare Ultra in Kirby Super Star Ultra, and have the other characters worship him. Dream Land's residents decide that it's best for Kirby to keep his position as the main character and view Meta Knight as unfit for the protagonist role.

At that moment, Bouncy passes by, carrying a load of apples. Wishing to prove himself, Meta Knight offers to help her with the load and lifts her and the apples. Kirby offers to help lighten up the load in another way by inhaling the apples. Meta Knight starts scolding Kirby, but Bouncy thanks him since she would have been unavle to finish the leftover apples by herself. The shocked Meta Knight is made the subject of ridicule by the rest. Just then, Gao Gao arrives with the news about the meteorite. Meta Knight initially wants to heroically stop it, but thinks about the things Dream Land's residents said, as well as Kirby's typically goofy behavior. He follows his rival's example and performs a folk rhyme, leading the rest to think he cracked under pressure. Kirby comes to the rescue with the Jet ability and stops the meteorite in its tracks. Everyone cheers for Kirby, and Meta Knight realizes that selfless heroism is the true trait of a main protagonist, only for him to take his words back when he hears Kirby's relief that the book he had been reading is unscathed. He gets frustrated because no one else hears Kirby's selfish remark.

Supporting/minor characters:

King Dedede enjoys a stroll in Dream Land. He sees Kirby sneezing on his friends. As he starts lecturing the puffball, his friends start giggling and running around like Kirby, and even inhale like him. This alerts King Dedede, who figures out that the sneeze is the source of this behavior. Before long, most of Dream Land's residents also start running around, giggling and inhaling.

The mob spots King Dedede and playfully chases after him, so he takes cover behind a tree. He decides to prevent Kirby from sneezing others by giving him a mask. However, to get his hands on one, he needs to cross past a crowd of Kirby-fied residents. With no other option, he runs out giggling past the rest. He successfully reaches the pharmacy, only to find Kirby at the counter. The mob hears Kirby's greeting and gathers around the pharmacy, cornering King Dedede. Kirby sneezes, and the ending is left open.
