"Friends (2)"[conjectural title] is a theme that can be heard in Kirby's Dream Land 3, appearing in many of the game's Animal Friend rooms. This theme was composed by Jun Ishikawa.

Composition[edit]

Kirby ponders which friend to bring along.

"Friends (2)" is a rather short theme that is in the key of G major. The theme has a bell-like instrument for the main melody and an ascending bassline, and overall sounds more cheerful than Friends (1).

Game appearances[edit]

Kirby's Dream Land 3[edit]

The theme plays in the Animal Friend rooms of stages 2 and 6 of Grass Land, stages 2 and 3 of Ripple Field, stages 3, 4, 5 and 6 of Sand Canyon, stage 1 of Cloudy Park, and stage 2 of Iceberg.

Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards[edit]

A remix of this theme can be heard in the Theater menu. This remix is not only slightly faster and in a different key (D major), but is also extended. The theme also has a slightly different chord progression that makes it sound more like "Float Islands". The remix plays the main melody of "Friends (2)" normally, but then introduces a new part not heard in the original (played by a piano). It then plays the main melody again, and then loops not too long afterwards.
