Kirby: Return to Dreamland[1][2] is a game in-development for Wii. Due to this, not much is known or confirmed at this point. What is known:

  • It is a sidescroller, similar to more traditional Kirby games, like Kirby's Adventure.[3]
  • Kirby's ability to copy his opponents moves will return.[3]
  • It bears a striking resemblance to the unreleased GameCube game.[4]
  • The Sword and Fire Copy Abilities seem to employ at least one attack affecting most of the visible screen.

It will be released in Fall 2011.[1]

Gameplay

Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede and Waddle Dee working together.

Gameplay will return to that of classic Kirby adventures, in that it will be a side-scrolling platform game, and that Kirby will once again be able to copy from his opponent abilities to be used. There are also new abilities like a Whip ability, which seems to be based off of Indiana Jones. It will also be able to have up to 4 players, playing as Kirby, Meta Knight, King Dedede, and Waddle Dee[1], each with their own will have their own weapons and their own unique feel.[5]

Enemies

In the video below, recurring enemies such as Waddle Dees, Cappies, Mumbies, Bronto Burts, and a Blade Knight are seen. A new enemy, what appears to be many Dees in a plastic shell that looks like a Waddle Dee. The Pacto and Como enemies from Kirby's Dream Land 3 also appear.

Story

When an alien spaceship crashes on Popstar, Kirby must retrieve the ship's parts to help the aliens return to their home planet.
