Regarding the "Green Tree Memories" page and disputes

Hoy Owen. I've seen your most recent edit on the Green Tree Memories page and looked at the source you provided. I believe you have misinterpreted the source and thus have reverted it again (though not completely undone it). Now, before you do anything else regarding that page, let me quickly remind you what the dispute policy is so (assuming you still want to challenge this point) you don't repeat what happened last time. (full details on the Dispute policy page)

A dispute happens when an editor (in this case you) makes a change to a page and another editor (in this case me) comes and disputes it by reverting the edit. If this happens, and the disputing editor cites a valid reason for performing the undo in the edit summary (as I have done), it is now your responsibility as the person who initially brought up the change to take the discussion to the article's talk page (or the disputing user's talk page if that's more appropriate) to debate why you believe your disputed change is valid. From there, the debate takes place until a conclusion is reached (or is not reached, in which case it moves to Step 2 as defined on the policy page).

That said, if you want to dispute this point, the next proper step is to go to the Green Tree Memories talk page and make your case under a new section. If you simply try to insert the edit again, you will violate the policy and have a strike made against you. I hope I made this clear, and I'll see you around. --Fubaka (talk) 23:40, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Also, I just looked at the dispute policy page again, and I seem to have forgotten to elaborate on what a dispute is there. So I will take basically what I've said to you here and put it on the page so we don't have any further confusion going forward. Keep in mind, you are not in trouble yet. I'm posting all this for your benefit so you don't end up in trouble again. --Fubaka (talk) 23:51, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Let me clarify on the source in question. I believe you interpreted it based on the title card of the source alone instead of what's actually listed in the Japanese credits for Super Kirby Clash. In this case, at around the 2:17 mark are the credits for エンディングソング (Ending Song). The name of the song in Japanese is written as 『グリーンツリーメモリーズ from 星のカービィ』 , surrounded by the Japanese equivalent of quotation marks or italics, further supporting the claim that the "from Kirby" part really is supposed to be part of the name of the song in question. The English credits equivalent doesn't really use italics or quotation marks to identify "Green Tree Memories from Kirby" at all, which must have led to the confusion a few days back. – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 23:58, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
I see. That does appear to be more compelling. Apologies for all the fuss. I am still working out the kinks in the policy, and I did get frustrated with you because you wouldn't respond to me on your talk page earlier. I will go ahead and change the title of the article and reinstate your edit. For your part, I will remove your block from my mental record, so no hard feelings, eh. Just remember to use talk pages more often. :P --Fubaka (talk) 00:14, 1 October 2019 (UTC)

Good work so far

Hoy Owen. I am just writing to let you know that I appreciate the work you've done to keep watch over the wiki and monitor recent changes made. You've been very vigilant and I don't want to give the impression that your work has gone unnoticed. Keep up the good work. --Fubaka (talk) 03:31, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for that! – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 15:13, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Hello

I am here for anti-vandalism work. --InvincibleGal321 (Talk to me!) 12:17, 2 January 2020 (UTC)

Well, thanks for the message. It's good to know to have another user specialize in driving away vandalism on this wiki! – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 14:59, 2 January 2020 (UTC)

Kirby's Super Star Stacker

Just so you know, Kirby’s Super Star Stacker is indeed an official name. Your edit was all well and good, just thought you might want to know. --YFJ (talk · edits) 23:12, 15 January 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, I was wondering if that was worth noting or not... I probably should've asked first. Either way it seems like just Star Stacker is the most current official title if we go by Robobot (the OST also supports this). StrawberryChan (talk) 23:23, 15 January 2020 (UTC)

Regarding Power Ploy and the other unfinished anime pages

Hoy Owen. I noticed that you made an edit to the Power Ploy page. I should point out that those later anime episode pages were made quite sloppily by another user, and it is my intention to eventually rewrite them completely, so unless you want to beat me to the punch, you might just want to ignore those pages. I've been considering just deleting them outright until I can get to those myself. --Fubaka (talk) 18:27, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

Yeah, I'm just the kind of guy who fixes the minor stuff when I first point them out. I'll let you get to work on the others. I'll say this, you've been doing a good job on those anime episode pages recently. Keep it up! – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 18:53, 21 February 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. I was hesitant to do them at first, but the work's actually quite enjoyable when compared to many other wiki doings. --Fubaka (talk) 18:55, 21 February 2020 (UTC)

Administrator

Hey, Owen! You've been working hard these past few months and have made consistently helpful edits to the wiki. How would you like to be promoted to administrator? In addition to the rights you already have as patroller, you'll be able to delete pages, block users, and edit protected pages, to name a few. You will also be given authority to settle disputes, and you will be entitled to a pink username and a platinum medal on your userpage. Is this something you're interested in? --YFJ (talk · edits) 21:16, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Definitely! – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 00:38, 4 April 2020 (UTC)
And done! Pink name coming shortly! --YFJ (talk · edits) 02:02, 4 April 2020 (UTC)

Important

There's a rather serious wiki matter being discussed in the NIWA Discord right now that I want your input on. As far as I know you do not have a Discord account, so I'm writing this message to encourage you to do so. If there's some reason you cannot, please let me know and I'll try to find some other way to contact you privately. Thanks! --YFJ (talk · edits) 15:58, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

Sorry about that. The second best thing in my case would be...sending a e-mail? That's about as close to private as you could possibly get. – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 16:56, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
Actually, I was thinking I could post what I think should be done on my userpage instead. Can't really think of any other alternative options off the top of my head... – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 17:47, 11 April 2020 (UTC)
So, we did eventually come to a solution. Many staff discussions are held on Discord and I do encourage you to create an account so you don't miss any such discussions. (In case you're wondering, it was about RMV and it ultimately led to his demotion.) Thanks! --YFJ (talk · edits) 18:21, 11 April 2020 (UTC)

The name of "A Well-Earned Rest"

It seems you don't have a Discord, so I'll have to explain it here. According to Fubaka, old head of the wiki, arrangements still count when going through the naming process, while originals are still preferred. However, the original song was never given a name, and even the one you wanted to give it was conjectural (lowest priority). The KTD arrangement was chosen for the name because it fit the majority of the uses of the theme. Here's a link to the original message from Fubaka, asking about what the name should be (if you ever do get a Discord account): [1] -iliekchez (talk · edits) 02:50, 15 April 2020 (UTC)

Vandal testing

Hey, I'm going to test a security measure, and to do so, I have to mimic the vandal anonymously. Will just be on my user pages. If you don't see anything, it means the measure worked. Don't mind me. Alex95 (talk) 21:10, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

about the water article

you didn't have to revert my edit, it was fine the way it was, Kirby Right Back at Ya actully came before and it featured Water Kirby —Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.93.54.201 (talkcontribs) . Please always sign your comments by typing ~~~~!

Like Superbro has said already on your talk page, it's redundant with the information already present on this article, so please don't add it back again. Otherwise, you may be blocked from editing temporarily. – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 21:40, 5 June 2020 (UTC)
Superbro? Don't you mean Rowbound? ;) Superbound (talk) 15:15, 7 June 2020 (UTC)
Oops... – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 15:33, 7 June 2020 (UTC)

King Dedede

you're actully right, Dedede is more heroic then antagonistic, but that also means he is more heroic then Bowser. I don't even know why it says that he is comprable to Bowser, Bowser is evil. Dedede is just greedy, thus causing him to fight Kirby. don't get me wrong, Dedede has done heroic acts, one of these acts is stealing the star rod, seemingly to keep the citizens of Dreamland from dreaming. but really, to protect Dreamland from Nightmare. Wario has helped heroes from the Mushroom Kingdom on a few sperate occasions, and he has also appeared as an antihero in the Warioland series and Wario World. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rowbro (talkcontribs) . Hello. That page you made was deleted because it was not constructive towards Wikirby (the kirby wiki). I think you may find better success discussing wario on the respective mario wiki page on Wario. Besides maybe some story comparisons, I do not see much reason to cover Wario on King Dedede's page whatsoever. Trig - 13:19, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

Regarding attack order sections for bosses and mid-bosses

Howdy. I notice you've put a lot of effort in to find out the specific attack orders for bosses and mid-bosses and listed them on their pages. I commend you for that effort, but I think those lists are starting to get a little bit excessive when it comes to spacing on pages. In particular, looking at the Security Force page, after the attacks table, the order list just keeps stretching down the page, and becomes very difficult to interpret. All in all, I think you should look into ways to more neatly package this information, especially considering that it is special information that readers would not be looking for in general if they were just casually perusing the wiki. I would suggest making a subsection for that information, and then making use of tables and tabs to condense it. --Samwell (talk) 18:38, 5 September 2021 (UTC)

snipper

Hey, I wanted to ask, isn’t the needle-cutter the same as Snipper? MarioKirbyGamer (talk) 18:30, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

Of all the questions I would be asked on a talk page...it's this... Anyway, just by taking a quick look on the wiki ('cause I don't have an easy way to play Kirby 64 for the time being), I could see why some players could make a connection between the Snipper enemy and the Needle-Cutter power combo. Who knows? Maybe it could have been intentional from the very start... In any case, that would be interesting to note, though that's just my opinion. – Owencrazyboy17 (talk)

Your edit summaries

Hi Owen. I'm just gonna leave this here as a permanent note for you, in case you miss the ping(s) on the Discord server:
Please do not make edit summaries with an overload of periods. This clogs up the RC and page history. It can also be considered spam and be seen as aggressive, teasing, etc, and we don't want that, especially from staff. I'm asking you this on your talk page, since it's been asked before on the Discord server that you don't do this, but it's okay if you didn't see that when you were pinged for it. Hopefully this talk page message will be easier to spot and take note of. This is just something we all as admins have to be careful and responsible about. We never want to come off as unwelcoming. As an extra note for other summaries that you've made in the past, please also generally avoid making written summaries that can come off as aggressive or demeaning. This can be very discouraging to new editors who are trying to learn the ropes.
Thank you for your time, and I hope you're having a good day today so far. :) -- Jellytost (talk) 21:40, 4 April 2023 (UTC)

A heads-up

Hey Owen. This isn't a warning, but more of a formal message regarding some of your behavior related to the wiki. There are two main points I would like to address.

The first point is about interactions and communications with staff. More than once, other staff members have pinged you on Discord asking you to hold off approving or rejecting an edit in moderation, or reminding you of staff policies, namely Superbound, Jelly and Samwell. Recent cases include Jelly asking and later pinging you not to reject an edit in moderation, Superbound pinging you to use ellipses less often in edit summaries, and you approving an edit that was being discussed in staff chat, which you were pinged about after approving, all of which you didn't reply to at all. While I understand that you may not always be around on Discord to see these pings, it's important to reply to them even if late, otherwise those people feel ignored. Myself and some other staff members have noticed you seldom reply to those kind of pings, and the WiKirby staff is a team, and on a team communication is of uttermost importance. I kindly ask you to communicate more with staff members regarding staff affairs, even if it's short replies, because that shows others you've read those messages and understood. I want to highlight in particular one thing regarding moderation: we should only reject edits that are vandalism or spam: if it's not that, the edit should be approved and reverted if needed.

The second point is regarding your edit summaries, in particular undos. It's important to remember that we should assume good faith, specially for newer editors, and a rude edit summary in a revert may make new editors not feel welcome here. Moreover, we shouldn't add fuel to the fire: if you notice an editor has bad faith, do not throw rage back, deal with the bad editor either with a warning, block, or discuss with other staff members what to do.

You are a good editor and admin, so this is more of a heads-up for you to keep in mind, as a couple of staff members aren't happy with these types of behavior. You are more than welcome to discuss this here further with me, or if you prefer privately on Discord: I am open to listening and clarifying anything you may need. My goal is that all WiKirby editors, including staff members, feel heard and respected, so I am just kindly asking you to help with that. Thank you for reading. - Gigi (talkedits) 02:12, 16 April 2023 (UTC)

file question

does Wikirby support/allow .avif files?--MetaKirbo 15:37, 22 April 2023 (UTC)
