On uploading files

Greetings, MetaKirbo. I notice you tried to upload a file to the wiki just now. Unfortunately, I had to delete it for the following reasons:

1. It had a very nondescript file name
2. It was a low quality gif
3. It had no aboutfile template or any info on it (particularly it had no source)

Before uploading any more files, I highly recommend looking at our help and policy pages for file uploading. In particular, please look at Help:File uploading, Help:Formatting file pages, and WiKirby:Image standards. Let me know if you have any questions. • Hi! The Meta Knight image you uploaded (and nominated) is actually a cleaner but cropped version of his artwork from Kirby no Copy-toru!. Do you have a source for it originally being from Kirby Super Star Ultra? --DeepFriedCabbage 21:01, 29 March 2023 (UTC)

Hello MetaKirbo. May I suggest that you double-check your preferences? In particular, following the instructions on the Help:Custom Signatures page that Starvoid pointed out, please make sure both that the text in 'Signature' is set to {{User:MetaKirbo/sig}} and that you have checked the 'View signatures as wiki text' checkbox before pressing Save at the end of the page.

I see that you've found a workaround for getting your custom signature to show up in the meantime. If you continue to manually type out the template name that can work but please append five tildes afterwards (~~~~~) to put a timestamp after your signature (eg 12:13, 13 April 2023 (UTC)). I would really recommend however that you double-check your preferences as it is easy to forget things like this at the best of times.

I wonder if the odd text was something to do with a newline that was in your signature page. I've taken the liberty of removing it, and that should fix it.

(Sidenote: In future please also refrain from setting indents in front of other people's comments. I personally prefer to reset indents after a certain point as the text becomes unreadable.)

Unsourced file

Hi, the personal image you have uploaded, File:Piano Kirby Defenatly not by.jpg, does not have a source. All images on WiKirby must have a source, or they will be deleted, even personal images. Can you find where you originally got this image? If you made it yourself with a program, you can enter self as the source. --kirb 16:33, 13 April 2023 (UTC)

Hi, "bot" is not a valid source. How did you create this image? If a bot created it, your source can be the bot, but please be more specific than just "bot". Also, the type of the image needs to be "user" since it's a personal image; for more details please check the personal content policy. Tips / heads-up

Hey MetaKirbo! I appreciate all the energy you have to contribute to the wiki, and how you've improved over time, but there are still some things you should keep in mind here on WiKirby and in wikis in general.

I deleted the "My Friend and the Setting Sun" you created, as it's not an official name. Before creating further redirects, review the naming policy and help page about redirects. I didn't remove it from your userpage but you should.

Secondly, I saw you left a message in starpunch's talk page, and four hours after you went to leave a message in Vipz's talk page claiming that starpunch "hadn't replied to you". There are couple of things to note here. First, editing WiKirby is no one's job, even of staff members, we do it out of passion and on our free times, and expecting someone to reply to you in four hours (in particular in late hours in the Americas) is extremely unreasonable. Please wait at least 24 hours next time, as even if someone isn't around, someone else will likely reply to you. Secondly, jumping in to multiple members like that just because someone didn't reply to you in a couple hours isn't a good attitude. Not only does it split the conversation, it sounds rude to the other user that didn't reply in time. If you are looking for fast responses, join our Discord server because multiple people there ended up commenting about what you asked in the talk pages, and you would have your answer by then, and it looks like you value fast responses, something that it's impossible to promise in the wiki itself but that is more likely to happen in a Discord server. I'm unsure why you refused Starvoid's initial invite, but please reconsider.

Finally, your page in your sandbox. It's not ready. I see many game names without italics but the biggest thing however is how you currently have two claims without sources: one that Jun Ishikawa composed it, another that this song appears in Dream Buffet. Under no circumstances should you claim something on WiKirby that you aren't sure. In fact, by working on a page, it's expected that you know enough about the subject to cover at least most of it. It's fine if you cannot complete every single section (in particular I cannot explain song compositions, so when I create song pages I never fill them), but you currently have two sections in your page where you ask others to complete. Of course, you can ask for help of other editors, I'm not saying you can't, but this signifies the page is far from ready. But as a heads up for the future: please only start creating pages you feel you know enough to make most of them, unless the page is very big or something. This one is a very short page, but due to how this song really didn't get many appearances it's expected to be created with almost all information about it filled.

Hi! I don't believe we've formally met, but I've seen your edits from the Recent Changes. I'm ShadowKirby or ShadowMagolor, both work!

I saw that you're planning on visiting Tenerife today! It's one of my favourite places in the whole world! It's beautiful, the weather's always nice, there's a lot to do (even by Canary Islands standards). Don't feel pressured to answer since I understand it could be private, but I was wondering if you intend on climbing the Teide, or well, visit the ocean beach (please do beware of the waves!!)

Anyhow, once again, enjoy your visit to the islands! ♡

Edit/PS: oh, be sure to visit Siam Park! It's said to be the #1 water park in Europe for a reason!
