This article is about the Copy Ability that appears in Kirby: Right Back at Ya!, and should not be confused with Staff.
That is...Baton Kirby!
— Meta Knight, in Air-Ride-in-Style - Part II

Baton is a Copy Ability which appears only in Kirby: Right Back at Ya!. It gives Kirby the ability to control his enemies with a baton. It was added into Air-Ride-in-Style - Part II as the result of a Copy Ability design contest held in Japan (being submitted by Yuya Nishiuchi from Fukushima prefecture) though it is only used in a dream sequence, making its canonicity questionable. Kirby gains this ability after inhaling a baton from one of the Air Riders.

Appearance

The Baton ability gives Kirby a staff-like baton. The baton is red (in the center) and yellow, while the tips are white and have tiny figurines of Kirby attached at the ends. It also gives Kirby a hat with red edges, which is white with a drawing of a staff on it.

Effect

The Baton throws a yellow ray, which when hitting an opponent, causes the opponent to have a yellow glow, after that the opponent will be synchronized with the stick, that is, any movement that Kirby makes with the baton will happen to the enemy. This lasts until the enemy is defeated.

In the Japanese version, Kirby shouts "Baton twirling!" while using this ability.
