Being limited to playing, "File Select" is a rather short track. It's an energetic theme in C Mixolydian mode and 4/4. It has trumpet-like instruments playing repeated notes in the foreground. The bass switches from C to F continuously, and can be heard playing a melodic counterpoint that shares similarity with the rising phrase of "[[Green Greens (theme)|Green Greens]]".
