The Sub-Game features three difficulty levels, starting with Level 1. An increase in difficulty results in Storo having a faster reaction time than Kirby to eat the cake, and also makes him less likely to ingest any bombs that appear.

— in-game description of Speedy Teatime

Speedy Teatime is one of the four Sub-Games in Kirby: Squeak Squad. This Sub-Game can be seen as a spiritual successor to Speed Eaters.

Gameplay

In this Sub-Game, Kirby competes against Storo and other Kirbys (if played with other people) in a race to fill their stomachs by eating cake. The cakes are served through a plate with a cover, which will lift open after a varied amount of time has passed. Once the cover is lifted, the player must tap the cakes on the touch screen using their stylus as fast as they can before Storo or the other Kirbys do the same, so that Kirby can inhale and swallow the cakes. If the player taps too early before the cover opens, Kirby is restricted from eating any cake temporarily until the cover is closed again, which is denoted by a big red "X" on the touch screen.

The Kirbys and Storo each have their own colored gauge with eight bars. The bars are filled by eating the cake that appears on the plate, which varies in size. The small cakes fill up one bar, while large cakes fill up two bars. Sometimes, the plate can reveal a bomb instead, which appears on a small or large cake. If the player or Storo eats a cake with a bomb inside, they will be knocked out by the explosion and be temporarily unable to eat the next batch of cake that appears. The player who manages to fill up their own gauge before the others do is declared the winner.

The Sub-Game features three difficulty levels, starting with Level 1. An increase in difficulty results in Storo having a faster reaction time than Kirby to eat the cake, and also makes him less likely to ingest any bombs that appear.
