Is Invisible Hammer Throw a Glitch or Not?[edit]

In my opinion, it's very clearly supposed to be a glitch not intended by the game developers as the hammer hitbox can still connect with enemy opponents even though Dedede was hit right as he threw the hammer, meaning the hammer hitbox shouldn't even be there in the first place. As the Category:Glitches page states quite plainly: "Glitches are errors in the programming of a game that players can use to their advantage to perform actions that were unintended for the game." The WiKirby:Glitch Disclaimer Notes has similar wording at the top of its page too. Why should a hitbox lasting longer than it normally would under certain circumstances not count as a glitch even though it clearly wasn't intended to function that way in the first place? – Owencrazyboy17 (talk) 20:35, 20 June 2021 (UTC)

I think it depends on whether or not the hitbox usually lasts that long normally, but I'd need someone to research that and see what the hitbox normally looks like, so we can see if the hitbox is supposed to be like that. I think it's usually like that from what I've heard in the Kirby Fighters 2 Discord but I think I'm gonna need to get someone to datamine to get a visual representation of what the hitboxes of Hammer Throw look like. So, I had a look at the video demonstration, and it looks like what is happening is that Dedede's hammer projectile is exploding basically as soon as it comes out, and the lingering hitbox from the explosion is what is hitting Gooey, not any sort of invisible projectile. I went into the game to test this out, and it seems like that indeed is just how the hitbox works, so I am concluding that this is in fact not a glitch. If nobody objects, I'm going to go ahead and remove the dispute and the "glitch" from the list. --Samwell (talk) 19:25, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
After going through the video frame by frame, it does look like the issue is that the explosion hitbox that is hurting Gooey, although I would argue it's working weirdly. But indeed, we can't know if the hitbox is working as it's supposed to unless someone datamines it or compares to the explosion hitbox in other cases. In any case, not an invisible hammer. - Gigi (talkedits) 19:55, 24 June 2021 (UTC)
