Fecto Forgo, titled Invasive Species, is a boss in the Kirby series, appearing in Kirby and the Forgotten Land. It is the first form of Fecto Elfilis battled.
The two parts of its name come from "infect" or "perfect" (more fitting of its next form) and "forgotten" or "forgo".
Fecto Forgo is a gelatinous creature who can absorb other life-forms such as smaller creatures like Awoofies, or even large creatures such as Leongar. It is generally teal in color, while its main head, Leongar's, is bright red.
After its loss to Kirby in the main story and now without Elfilin to keep it whole, Fecto Forgo's soul somehow manages to survive and turns into Soul Forgo, titled Psychic Beast. It keeps Leon captive in its dreams, and Kirby must collect pieces of Leon's soul in the extra mode Isolated Isles: Forgo Dreams. After failing to control Forgo Leon into defeating Kirby, Soul Forgo initiates a battle, but is distracted when it notices a butterfly nearby. The butterfly then makes contact with Soul Forgo, and they morph into Morpho Knight.
Boss Battle
The autoscroller-like battle occurs in a long hallway of Lab Discovera, forcing Kirby to move forward as Fecto Forgo sloshes closer. During the battle, Kirby comes upon various enemies on boxes which he can switch his ability or gain one if he desires.
Sometimes Fecto Forgo will dash forward to Kirby's position in an attempt to deal damage, which can be quickly dodged by moving away. It also throws globs of itself at Kirby, which also leave drop stars.
Soul Forgo is not fought.
Trivia
- The specific enemies seen in Fecto Forgo from left to right are as follows: one Poison Croakom, four Sssnackers, one Digguh, one Balloon-Meister, one Primal Awoofy, one Orabiroo, and one Gnawcodile. Notably, all these enemies are new to Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
- Soul Forgo's transformation into Morpho Knight uses the same gag as in Kirby Star Allies with Galacta Knight.
