"Cozy Cabin", named "Theme from Cosy Cabin" in the British English version, is a theme from Kirby's Epic Yarn and Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn that plays in the stage with the same name. It was composed by Tomoya Tomita.[1]
Composition
"Cozy Cabin" is a sweet and peaceful theme in E major and 4/4. It has a brief intro set in the dominant. The melody is played by a lead flute in its low registers with a cello and glockenspiel counterpoint. Its intonations are reminiscent of "Snowy Fields" lyrical sections. The melody tends to rise, both in its broken triads and general movement. The first phrase plays twice, and the following two base off of it. The second section features a lead violin. While mainting the simple harmonic structure and soulfulness, descending motion prevails this section. The first version of the phrase is simplistic, while the second adds diversity, coloring the music with augmented harmonies. A warm brass instrument picks up from here, and in a duo with the violin, it combines the original intonations with delicate harmonies, now diminished. This third section peaks at a rising major seventh representing the dominant, before a resolution is reached, and the tranquility returns for the track to loop.
